"What the actual hell. What was Floch thinking. That idiot!" You aggressively pulled your boots over your feet as you hopped around the room. Jean and Connie stood in the doorway, watching you struggle with your shoes. "We have no clue. I don't know what Hange is going to do." Jean pursed his lips as you exited your room and slammed the door.
You strutted down the hallway with the boys to your side. "We have to go all the way to the military headquarters for this shit. Just when I thought we got a break." Connie let out a sigh as you guys exited the building. There was a carriage waiting for you guys outside at the bottom of the steps.
Jean helped you into the carriage and you scooted onto the seat. Jean was next, sitting next to you as Connie sat across from you two. You leaned back in the seat and let out a heavy breath. "I swear, this kid is going to be the death of us.
You stood up straight as Hange burst through the doors of the large room. They looked to Floch and the people sitting behind him. "So, you're the ones who leaked the info about Eren? Holger, Wim, Louise and Floch..." Hange sat down in the chair sitting in front of Floch.
"Why did you do it?" They looked up at Floch. "Because Eren should be freed. He hasn't done anything wrong. He challenged an imposing enemy and grasped victory. Victor in the form of the rumbling which secures our right to live" You looked over at Jean, who was staring intently at Floch.
"There's no guarantee that the rumbling works as planned and can save us." Hange said as Floch stared them down. "Only because you're keeping Eren locked up. At this rate our victory will be squandered." Floch's eyes made you want to punch the living daylights out of him.
"Eren Jaeger will lead out country. Please, release him at once." Floch furrowed his eyebrows more as he tensed up in the chair. "Yeah, you might be right about that. One way or another, I made the decision to carry out Zeke's plan. Therefore, I won't tolerate disobedience."
Floch closed his eyes as you, Jean and Connie walked over to the group of recruits. "If it's for the sake of humanity, so be it." You helped one of the guys out of the chair and they all filed out of the room. You walked down the hallway with the recruits and down the winding staircase.
It was dead silent as you walked Floch and the others to the cells in the basement. Jean opened the cell door and the recruits walked inside. You avoided eye contact with them and immediately looked to Jean as he closed the metal door. "What do you think of this?" You looked to Louise as she paced the cell.
"I don't know. All I'm focused on is no one else dying." Jean held onto your shoulder as he led you out of the basement and to the ground floor. As you reached the ground floor, you could hear shouting coming from outside. "They're here to protest the whole locking up Eren thing, right?" You pointed to the crowd that had gathered at the front.
"Yeah..." Jean let out a sigh as he strutted towards the large doors that led outside. You had only stepped one foot outside when there was a loud explosion. It sounded like it as right above you. You dropped down to the ground, covering your ears with your hands. Your eyes were wide as you watched the rubble fall down to the ground in front of you.
"Y/N!" Jean knelt down beside you and wrapped his arms around your body as you sat there petrified. "Give your hearts! Give your hearts! Give your hearts!" The crowd repeatedly chanted as you looked up at the rubble. You could see a body lying in the rubble. The long grey hair was lying on the ground. Premier Zachary.
Your eyes felt swollen as you stood before Commander Nile. "Floch Forster and some 100 soldiers and guards vanished from the prison. They're thought to have defected timed with Eren's escape. I'm sure they're behind the premiers murder too." Commander Nile spoke with his hands behind his back as he looked at Hange.
"They need a name. Let's call these anti-military insurgents 'Jaegerists'. And their goal is, what?" Commander Nile looked for Hange to answer. "They're hoping to bring Zeke and Eren together. They'll reform the military with Eren on top. The military schemed to take the founder from Eren, all without telling us. It's clear that caused them to make a move."
The room was silent as the two Commanders faced each other. You shuffled awkwardly in your spot, almost knocking into Armin. "We knew what would happen if we had." Nile said coldly as the man next to him opened his mouth. "In any case, many of the Jaegerists are from the scouts. How will you take responsibility, Hange?"
You looked over to Hange as you bit your lip. "I'll accept any punishment, but resigning now would be irresponsible. We don't know how many Jaegerists are still in hiding."
"Indeed. There might even be a suicide bomber in front of me." The man next to Nile spoke, causing you to tighten your hands into a fist. "Can you be trusted? Until we know, we can't let you Scouts roam as you please!" He raised his voice just as the doors slammed open.
You looked to the side to see Commander Pyxis with some Garrison officers behind him. "Enough! We have a guest here! We have more important things to do than bicker! Hange, who know where Zeke's being held?" Pyxis looked over at Hange. "Levi and the 30 soldiers with him. Also, three soldiers who deliver supplies. Me as well."
"Have those three brought here. Nile, is the Queen's residence safe?" You looked over at Nile.
"Only a few know the location, but I'll check it out." Nile began to walk out of the room and you looked back at Pyxis "Eren will attempt to contact Eren and Queen Historia. Protecting those two is an absolute must!" Pyxis shouted and the crowd responded.
"Now that we've lost the premier, the only one who can lead us is you." Armin turned to him and everyone else laid eyes on Pyxis. "What do you think we must do?" The Commander held his hand up to his chin as he pondered. "We've been utterly beaten. Let's surrender to Eren." He shrugged his shoulders and your mouth dropped open.
Everyone in the room gasped as they stared at the Commander. "We can't do a thing about enemies in our midst."
"You're kidding! Bow down to the people who killed the premier?!" A military police cried out from behind you.
"I knew Zachary for many years. To live and die by revolution would be what he wanted." Pyxis strutted to the window as he looked at the ground. "Anyways, the four who died wouldn't want their deaths to cause Eldia's fall."
"So we submit to the Jaeger brothers?" Nile gritted his teeth and Pyxis turned around. "We're not submitting. We'll use the location of Zeke to negotiate with the Jaegerists. Get moving soldiers!" Pyxis stood talk before the soldiers. Your hands were still balled in a fist as you looked over at Jean.
Everything was happening so fast, your head was pounding as you tried to grasp the concept that Eren was now separate from you and the others.
