"Y/N, come on. We have to go." Jean spoke softly as he rested his hand on your shoulder. Your face was buried in your hands as you tried to muffle your sobs. "Y/N..." Jean knelt down in front of you. He pushed back your hair and slowly brought your hands down to reveal your face.
Jean's face dropped when he laid eyes on your face. He bit his lip as he wiped away your tears. "We can't be late. I'm sorry, my love." Jean grabbed onto your hands and pulled you off the bed. You were both dressed in your long green coat. Jean wrapped his arm around your waist as he walked you out of the room.
You walked slowly with your head down low as you walked down the hallway with Jean. The tears hadn't stopped since that day. Jean didn't let go of you as you made your way outside. It was dreary and quiet. The air was cold and the wind whipped around your coat.
"It looks like it's going to storm." Jean frowned as he pulled you down the steps. It wasn't a long walk to the cemetery, but it seemed longer with the silence. Jean and you walked through the gates of the cemetery, going straight back. You took slow steps up to the gravestone that was newly engraved.
You knelt down on the ground and bent over, pressing your forehead to your hands. You pictured Sasha in your head. All the moments you shared with her, Connie, Jean and the others. The tears trailed down your face, falling onto the moist ground. Jean knelt down next to you.
"Sasha, please. Just come back. I can't do this." You cried out and you began to choke as you tried to hold back your cries. Jean placed his hand on your back, rubbing circles to try and comfort you. You slowly pulled yourself up and looked over to Jean. He was teary eyed as he stared at the grave.
"Let's go." Jean stopped up and helped you off the ground. You nodded your head and slipped your hand into your pocket. You grabbed the piece of paper, along with the steamed potato you had wrapped up. You placed them both at the base of the grave and stepped back.
The paper had a drawing of the squad done by Jean back in the day. "You're home. You can eat now." You buried your face into Jean's chest as he walked away with you. "Jean. Y/N." You looked forward to see Connie standing by a tree at the edge of the graveyard.
Connie's face was droopy as he looked at you two. As you greeted him by the tree, you caught a glimpse of Niccolo walking by. He looked over at you, but avoided eye contact. "Niccolo..." You looked to Connie and Jean as they watched Niccolo head to Sasha's grave.
"I really wanted them to have a happy ending." You let out a sigh and turned back towards the boys. "Hey! Aren't you a Marleyan?! What the hell are you doing here?!" You heard someone shouting and Connie and Jean immediately ran after the voice. You ran with them to see a person from the Military Police kicking Niccolo as he knelt in front of Sasha's grave.
You ran towards the guy and held him back wit Jean. "Sorry." Jean said as the man pulled away from him. "Marleyans can piss off!" The man walked off and you knelt down by Niccolo. He held onto the back of his head as his face rested in the grass. "Hey, Niccolo. Are you okay?" You rested you hand on his shoulder.
"Dammit! Why?! Sasha's really dead?" Niccolo turned to look up at Connie and Jean. Niccolo's eyes were filled with tears. "Why? What the hell were you guys doing?!" Niccolo yelled out as he slowly sat up.
"She was shot by a kid who snuck aboard the airship." You sad softly as you stood up and hovered over him. "That's too ridiculous to be true." Niccolo scoffed as he stared at Sasha's name. "The girl had been trained." You said bitterly as you looked to Jean.
His head hung low and his eyes were still teary. "A Warrior candidate?"
"I let my guard down. Sorry." Jean looked to Niccolo. "Why apologize to me? All I did was cook for her." Niccolo let out a sigh as Connie bent over and placed his hand on Niccolo's shoulder. "Thanks for letting her eat so much tasty food, Niccolo."
"What do you think about this Connie?" Niccolo asked and Connie hesitated for a second. "Me and Sasha were like twins. It feels like half of me is gone." As Connie spoke, footsteps approached. You looked up to see a man, woman and a girl approaching the grave.
"Ya'll knew my daughter, did you?" The man took off his hat and placed it against his chest. You quickly moved out of the way and helped Niccolo up to let Sasha's family visit her grave. You stood back as you watched The girl and mother kneel down at the grave, sobbing.
"Um... I'm just a captive Marleyan, but I'm allowed to work as a chef." Niccolo spoke up and Sasha's father turned around. "Your daughter loved eating my food more than anyone else. So.. if you ever want to, please come and eat my food. Sasha's father held out his hand to Niccolo.
"On the house, right?" He smiled as Niccolo grabbed his hand. "Of course."
