Lucy opened her eyes to find herself in the ruins of Cair Paravel. She was confused when she stared in the river to find a reflection of her younger self in royal clothes, the age where she and her family had met Caspian for the first time. She had a gold ribbon in her hair tied in a bow. and was standing at the exact spot where her throne had once stood.

"Lucy," she heard a voice that she never thought that she would hear again.

"Mr. Tumnus," she whispered as she turned around to see the faun that she once loved dearly.

"How..."

"I'm here, Lucy," he smiled fondly.

"I never thought that I would get to see you again

"I never thought that I would get to see you again."

"It was because of you." He said calmly; slowly, taking steps forward towards her.

She blinked, slowly backing away, "What?"

"When you decided to search for the Spare Oom and Wardrobe that you once told me about, the entire country fell into turmoil. We couldn't prevent the foreign invaders. Everyone scattered and all of us were separated. And all of this has been because of you."

"I'm sorry, Mr. Tumnus, I didn't mean for us to leave. I thought-"

"You thought that you could come back. But when you did, you came here. You were too late." His lips trembled once he paused, maintaining his calm voice.

"I've been blaming myself ever since, Mr. Tumnus," she revealed something that she never let anyone know about, not even herself. "It was my fault that all of you are dead-you, Mr. and Mrs. Beaver, Oreius...everyone. But I didn't know all of that would happen! I didn't know that-"

"What? That rubbles were rained on Castle Cair only a few weeks after you disappeared? I might have been the one to inform you about the sighting of the White Stag, but if I knew the future that I had awaiting me, I would have never encouraged you for the hunt."

"I'm sorry," she repeated and took a deep breath.

"We can be friends once again, Lucy," he said, each word calmer than the last. The words slowed down in each sentence he spoke.

"How?" She whispered.

He put his hand forward like she had when they first met each other. "Take my hand and shake it just like you taught me. And we can be together, forever."

"That is not possible."

"It will be, all you have to do is take my hand."

"
