Edmund and Peter stood strapping on armor for what they would face on the island, truly, they had no idea what they would face. Edmund looked down at his waist and saw Rhindon. It was glorious as ever, even the handle shining in the ship's lights. He eyed Peter and then back down at the sword. "Peter," He sighed, as he met his eyeline.

His brother turned and faced him, his eyes meeting Edmund's, "Yes, Edmund?"

Edmund looked down and detached Rhindon from his waist. "I forgot to give this back to you after you rescued us, I've wielded your sword long enough now."

Peter hesitated, staring at his brother

Peter hesitated, staring at his brother. Edmund shook the arm holding the sword, clearly insisting he would take it. "Oh, thank you, Ed...I didn't even realize it was gone."

"You're lying."

He smiled, "Maybe I am, But you looked as if you enjoyed handling my sword. Caspian told me the whole story of how you got it in the first place. He was right. I would have wanted you to have it."

"It was fun while it lasted," Edmund smiled back and even chuckled a bit. "The sword is so graceful and smooth when I fight with it, Father Christmas did well."

They settled into silence for a little counting to put on armor, until Peter spoke up. "I did miss Rhindon in England. I missed...all of this."

"I missed the swords too."

"No Ed, not just the swords, this," he gestured all around him. "I missed the kingdom, the landmarks, our family."

"Peter, we never left."

"Well, we were split apart from each other, and Narnia brought us back together once more. When we do go back, I don't want that to change. I want to stay together."

"I would like that too, Pete." He nodded, deep down knowing that once they were back in England they would disperse again. How could they not? Peter was studying for university, Susan was in America. Soon he would be out of the house too. He considered saying something to Peter, but Peter seemed to have a candle of hope. Edmund did not want to blow it out.

"Now that you don't have a sword," Peter told him, shaking Edmund out of his thoughts. "You can have the one that I was using."

"Thanks, Peter." He said as his eyes dropped to the ground.

"Are you okay?"

"It's nothing. I'm just thinking about how you have your sword, Susan has her bow and Lucy has her dagger. You all have these things that make you special, and I don't."

"Edmund, you are special. You don't need some silly present to prove it."

He smirked, "I guess you are right."

Peter let out a small laugh, "Now try not to get stabbed again during battle."

"That only happened because I was saving you!"
