Bokuto and Akaashi were woken up to a high-pitched scream. They fell asleep on the fluffy rug on the floor of Bokuto's bedroom. They had been playing a game of cards and their hearts jumped when they were woken up to Anzu, Bokuto's mother, screaming. They both immediately woke up in shock." Mom?"
"Oh, Akaashi. I'm sorry for waking you two up. You gave me quite the fright! I was just putting the laundry basket in your room and would put it away when Bokuto was awake but I came in only to see an unrecognizable body laying in my son's room."
"haha, no worries." Bokuto turned away and laughed behind his hand. What was it with him being so unrecognizable to the Bokuto family?
" You should have told me I would have set up the sofa for you."
"Oh, it's fine. And besides, I wouldn't want to wake a sleeping mother with 3 kids."
"Tsk, tsk. Koutarou, if you are hanging around with Akaashi so much, maybe you could pick up a few of his manners," Anzu said jokingly. "How polite, Akaashi, but it is fine. Well, since you are here, I'll make you two something to eat."
"Uh, that's fine, Mrs. Bokuto. I was just going to leave so I'll eat at home."
"Nonsense! What mother would I be if I did not provide for a young boy waking up in my house?"
"Well, I guess I am quite hungry."
"Perfect!" Anzu clapped her hands together. " I'll start making tamagoyaki! Is that alright with you, Akaashi?"
"I'd love that." Anzu placed the laundry basket on the desk and before leaving said, " Oh, and Akaashi. Call me Anzu." she smiled before closing the door behind. " Am I really that unrecognizable?"
"I- yes." Bokuto chuckled. "You know, every time you come round then leave, my mother would ramble on about how I should be more mannered like Akaashi." Bokuto mimicked the last part of his sentence. Akaashi giggled. "Sorry?"
"It's quite annoying." Bokuto laughed.
"Um, Sorry?" Akaashi shrugged laughing.
"No, ha, you're apologizing for being a good person." They both smiled. " Ugh, I fell asleep with such a winning hand!"
"Bokuto, you said that every round and every round I won."
"Well then, let's play."
(A few minutes later)
"Aww!"
Akaashi smiled triumphantly that gave a look saying ' I told you so'. " Hmmph."
"So, do you want to go to the living room?"
"Yeah, sure," Akaashi said, though really, he wanted to spend more time with Bokuto more.
They got downstairs and what Akaashi saw he wondered how he didn't really notice earlier. I mean, he had gone to Bokuto's plenty of times but he hadn't noticed how his dad treated him.
"Hey, hey hey, dad Aka-"
"Not now, son. I'm already late for work.No need to waste any time." Minato, Bokuto's dad, brushed straight past Bokuto. Bokuto pouted as he walked over to his mother. Minato kissed Anzu on the cheek then he rushed to the door and was on the verge of leaving when in the corner of his eye, he spotted Akaashi." Akaashi! It's been too long, you must come over more." He grinned and started walking over to Akaashi.
"I've been with Bokuto mainly at my place recently is all."
"Yes, well, our home is yours. Feel free to come over whenever you like." Hesitantly, Akaashi gave a tiny barely noticeable smile. He didn't want to smile, but he also didn't want to be rude. It was good they had a father-son-like relationship. It would be good for the future when they would be introduced as an item.
