Akaashi had left the day he came. Another week passed after and now he was going to his doctor's appointment. He hadn't slept in 2 weeks and a half. He told this to the doctor so they put him under hospital care and watched out for hallucinations and weight loss. All in a good matter.
A couple of days after this...
Akaashi came back a few days earlier as a surprise, along with his family this time. And they were going to stay. They walked into the Bokuto house but were shocked to see only Anzu there. "Where's Bokuto?" Akaashi was the first to ask.
"He didn't tell you?"
"No..."
"He's in the hospital. He hasn't slept in a while so..."
"What?"
"yeah...I thought he would have told you." Akaashi cursed under his breath.
"Um, mother, dad can I-"
" Feel free," Guni reassured as he grinned nicely. Akaashi walked to the hospital wondering why Bokuto didn't tell him he was at the hospital. I know he is allowed to text in the hospital so why? Maybe he was just busy. Or maybe I didn't see them...? He checked his phone, but nothing. He reached the hospital and knew. He just knew what room he'd be in so when he signed in, he didn't need the receptionist to tell him, she was confused by this though. Akaashi felt a shiver go through his body walking down the same hallway again. He had been so careless. He knew the fate that could take Bokuto. He had experienced it. And yet, he left Bokuto sleepless for 18 days. He bit his lip seeing Bokuto's room then knocked. It was his room indeed. "Come in!"He heard and when he entered he saw a frail Bokuto. One he'd never seen in this life. It pained him to see him this way. To see the pale skin Bokuto now had and bags underneath his eyes. He eyed the room. It killed him. Seeing that same window Bokuto watched the snow out of. seeing the very same bed Bokuto died on, next to himself. he grabbed his chest and hardly stopped himself from dropping to his knees. He had to be strong, or at least in front of Bokuto. " Hey, hey, hey! Akaashi! What are you doing here?! I missed you!"
"Yeah, I missed you, too. The trip was cut early, so I came. Why did I have to find out you were in the hospital by your mother and not you?"
"Oh, you texted me you would be busy with the funeral arrangements so I didn't bother telling you. plus I knew you would find out when you came back so, there was no point."
" I always have time for you, Kou. Don't doubt that. But thank you." Hearing Bokuto say funeral did the works of electrifying Akaashi up his spine. He sat next to Bokuto on his bed and they talked.
