My words are stuck in my throat, making it impossible for me to defend myself from the familiar person who stood a couple of feet away from me.
I keep my head down as I feel his eyes and the eyes of the two other guys scan me from head to toe, clearly judging me in the worst way possible. I look horrible after all, I don't even wear nice clothes and I probably look like hell right now.
Hating this feeling of being watched, I wrap my arms tightly around my body to try and comfort myself, even if it makes more pain than good to my body. I am literally crushing my limbs and bruises, as I prefer feel physical pain than this mental discomfort about my body.
I suddenly sense a movement just behind me, immediately alerting me. I see out of the corner of my eye the figure of Ethan positionning himself right next to me, his arms crossed over his torso, as if he was trying to... protect me ?
"Don't you dare say those words to her ever again Damon." Ethan suddenly snaps, threatening the man if front of me that seems to be Damon. I slowly lift my eyes from the floor to look at the three guys in front of me, still scared to cross their gaze.
To my astonishment two of the boys look at me with curiosity, which replaces their previous disgusted glare. It's like seeing Ethan protect me, switches something inside of them. On the other hand, the eldest looked like he was going to explode.
"In my office right now." He growls to Ethan with a threatening voice, which makes me swallow hard. Please don't leave me alone.
Ethan doesn't argue with his brother and gives me a reassuring smile, completely ignoring my pleading look, asking for him to stay. Just then he follows Damon in the hall. My eyes sonny leave Ethan's back, as I see them both disappear behind a large door at the end of a corridor, which leaves me alone in the middle of a living room with two strangers who look oddly familiar.
"Who are you ? You're too young to be here." One of the guys suddenly asks me, breaking the couple secondes of silence. He looks into my green eyes with his similar ones but unlike my feared gaze, his is masked with an emotionless facade.
I am not even sure what I was supposed to answer to his question to be honest. I can't just be like blur out something in the lines of : "Oh yeah, so apparently I am your sister who came back from the dead ! Surprise !"
So instead I just think of telling my name, but just when I am about to do so, the front door brutally opens and slams shut a couple of seconds later. I jump at the sudden fear that bubbles inside of me, as I think back at the Cambells.
What if it was them ? I think to myself as my eyes only grow wider from the fear and anxiety that builds up in my already painful body.
"Why the FUCK did you interrupt me while I was in an important meeting Ethan ! I swear to god you better have a damn good reason for that otherwise I-" a boy, who looks exactly like Ethan, except he has black hair just like me, storms into the living room. He stops dead in his tracks as soon as his dark eyes fall on my small figure.
