When I wake up all the pain is gone

When I wake up all the pain is gone. I feel numb. I slowly open my eyes to have a look at my surroundings, only to see that I somehow landed in a big white room. It is spacious, shiny and very white. I don't like it. In fact I hate it. It just makes it all fake, perfect and happy when in reality everything is wrong. I prefer the darker colours that show the true face of life and right now I just want, need to leave.

I lift myself up a bit so I can sit up properly and I see that I am hooked to a heart monitor which mirrors my heartbeat. Multiple wires are also attached to my arms on différents places and I start to grow anxious.

As I am about to rip off the tube that is attached to my arm, a lady in a white blouse comes inside the room.  Our eyes meet and first she seems shocked to see me awake, but soon enough a smile appears on her lips, showing her perfect white teeth.

"Oh Magnolia ! You are awake ! I didn't expect you to wake up this soon." She says  with a small chuckle as she comes towards my bed to grab a clipboard that is attached to the end of my bed.

"How do you feel ? Any pain ?" She questions me with a smoothing voice while dying me carefully.

I shake my head no, while I kept my eyes on her analysing every move she makes as she flips some pages of what I think are my results.

"Where am I ?" I ask in a very firm tone, which makes her look up from the papers with a questioning look. Just then she seems to realise why I am so closed up towards her.

"Oh I am sorry" She smiles softly. " I am Doctor Bonham. You can call me Jenna if it makes you feel any better. Right now you are in Morgan's Hospital where we are currently taking care of you. Your brothers brought you here."

My brothers...

Flashbacks of what happened the last couple of days start to flood right through my mind and I feel like a panic attack is slowly forming to press against my chest.

I nod and intend to stand up, but Doctor Bonham is quick enough to react and gently push me back on my bed. I give her a warning look to let me go, but she doesn't bulge. She immediately gives me back a severe look and I sigh before laying myself down again. I am too tired to fight right now.

Just then when my head hits the pillow again, I start to take in what she said a couple of seconds ago.

Morgan's hospital... mum's name was Morgan... is it possible...

"Magnolia... while you were asleep I did some tests." Bonham speaks up again and I lift up my eyes to cross her gaze. "You have two broken ribs and we will have to operate you to make sure one of your ribs doesn't pierce through an organ. Can you tell me how it happened ?" She explains and asks me gently, but I feel my blood turn cold.
