Chapter 10

Zero's POV

Really a challenge what is this the olden days, i have no reason to worry though thanks to my vampire abilities i will beat him easily. "By the way your vampire abilities may help you but i have been trained so that my vampire abilities are the best they can be" Ryan was so arrogant, "on three, one, two, thr-" he was cut off by Emma shouting so loud it drowned out everything else.

"Guys stop seriously, Ryan i told you yesterday you seem like a nice guy but-" she suddenly stopped mid sentence. "But you like someone else" Ryan looked over at me, and it finally hit me Emma likes me? "Please go and save your heart for someone else, someone that will love you back" she had a way with words. He slumped in defeat and started to walk away.

Ryan stopped beside Emma and whispered "i can't understand why you would like someone so dark and broken after all he does have a illness that may kill him" what he said made my blood boil, without thinking i yelled "i accept the challenge".

Ryan turned to look at me, "your willing to risk losing the one thing in your life thats going well?" He questioned. What he said made me think twice "if i win will you leave Emma in peace?" I hoped that was the case.

"That seems fair and if i win... i get Emma and your life" he had a strange smirk. Emma gasped in shock, obviously worried for me. She looked at me pleadingly, she didn't want me to do it.

"Ok" i agreed, "on three, one, two" he counted, i got ready to fight, i put my right foot behind me and bent my knees. "Three" he made the first move bringing his foot up to kick me in the stomach i easily dogged it and kicked my foot under his feet and he fell flat on his back.

He sprang up after making contact with the ground under him. He went behind me and kicked my back, i fell face forward to the ground i have to win not just for Emma's sake but for my life as well.

I layed on the ground for a minute then got back up, i was feeling a bit weak but i had to continue. Suddenly something hit my brain "wait why do i have to die if i lose" Ryan stopped and looked at me "because it will be my revenge for what you did to my little brother" he has a brother.

"Who is your brother?" I asked somewhat confused "a year ago when you first found out about your true side" i thought back, my eyes widened that little boy was HIS brother. "Ryan I'm so sorry i didn't know and i know how you feel my parents are dead". How did he know i killed his brother.

Ryan looked at me, i thought i was going to die right there but instead he put his hands up "you win Zero, i give up" and just like that he was gone.

Emma's POV

Soon after Kaname and Sarah found us, they both waved "hey guys" Sarah said with a delightful smile. Sarah and Kaname were holding hands, i assumed the best "are you two... ya know...thing" they nodded their heads at the same time in a happy response.

Sarah shot me a 'are you two' look i gave her a look that said 'we were interrupted' the look she gave me was a look of empathy.

We all walked back to Red Moon high in a line talking and laughing on the way, however Zero didn't speak the entire time. "You guys go on ahead i'll meet up with you" i said to Sarah and Kaname they waved, so i turned to Zero.

"Ok what's up, you haven't said anything at all" i was so worried about Zero. "I'm fine just tired from fighting" there was something else that was bothering him. "Zero, I'm not stupid, i know there is something else" he looked at me and smiled.

"I thought you would be disgusted in me after what i did to Ryan's brother" he looked sad "i was disgusted in myself" did he really just say that there is no way i would be disgusted in him.

"I would never be disgusted by you Zero your my best friend" i stated he gave me a sheepish smirk "I'm your friend am i" he was so cheeky "well... i mean... its just- i was cut off by laughter, Zero was holding his stomach and laughing so hard he nearly fell over. All laughter had faded and now Zero and me were just standing there in complete silence until he spoke "i was messing with you, but you know it wouldn't be so bad if we were just a bit more than friends" i couldn't believe it.

"Zero i know where you are going with this and i want the same as well" i was pulled into a hug it took a while to figure out what was going on but i hugged him back, we stopped hugging and walked back to our friends who were waiting for us, this thing that i had with Zero would last forever.
