Lightning Strikes Twice

Chapter 14: Brother

Rue pulls the gun out of its holster and starts spinning it in his hand. He then holds the gun with his mouth as he reaches into his pocket.

He pulls out a singular orange bullet and puts it into the barrel of the gun. He takes the gun out of his mouth and starts spinning it again. He stops it as he aims at the robot's head.

"One shot. I need only one shot."

The gun clicks and then fires, the bullet somehow pierces the head. At first nothing happens, but then a combustion of flames bursts from the head.

The robot drops to ground making a loud thud noise. Sounding out victory. Rue's effortless victory.

Martix and I get up from the ground. I walk over to Rue patting him on the shoulder.

"Hey. Thanks Rue, you really saved our hides."

"Yeah, I know. Tch. Wasn't even a challenge, she's getting sloppy."

"If you say so..."

A purple tear in air opens up. Someone comes out of it, it's the girl that works under Luxia. I remember her name being Allison.

She aims her hands at the robot, a very wide purple ring appears above it. The ring comes down over the massive robot and causes it to disappear entirely. She then walks up to Rue getting in his face.

"Hey. Luxia says you're lucky you don't officially work for the Queen, or else you'd be in some deep shit."

"Yeah? Tell her I said to pick a new project. These bullets are raw elemental power, there's nothing they can't pierce."

Allison scoffs at Rue before cutting at the air and disappearing.

Rue walks over to the two of us looking confused.

"Hey. I saw all that, what happened?"

I scratch my head looking away a little feeling ashamed.

"Well, I sort of broke down there. The other day.. Luxia had.. kidnapped me and well.."

Martix puts a hand on my shoulder stepping in, probably noticing the discomfort on my face.

"She brainwashed him, had him fight us."

"Yeah.. all that, the experience was just taking a really heavy toll on me."

Rue scratches his head with his gun looking even more confused than before.

"Well for starters I'm really sorry that happened to you, again we'd do anything if we could but our hands are tied. Second, you know where she's located?"

"Yeah, they managed to figure it out. Thank god that they did. Now when we get the chance we can try to stage an attack."

Rue looks at me with a brow raised.

"Now did you say that on record? Because we may have to keep watch and stop you from doing so."

"Did I say what on record? I don't know what you're talking about."

"Ha! Alright, well I'll leave you guys be now. I'll go let Valetzia about this mess, so don't worry about it."

I nod. Rue slips his gun away and walks off waving.
