I sit at my table looking down at the red spots on my bandages. My hands still sting a little. Martix stares at me with a look of disbelief.
"How do you keep getting out of this shit?"
"I honestly don't know."
Xenith passes me some water. He stands there staring at me, not saying a word. Like he's silently judging me, he feels like a parent. I look away nervous as I take a sip from the glass.
"So what? You just let her go?"
"It would be too dangerous to keep her there, he might've continued to pursue and kill her. Kron probably let her go because he knew I'd want that."
"If she can manage to make thought out plans to take you, she can learn to manage herself."
"You know I don't work like that Xenith. I know what she did to us, what she did to me. I don't want anyone dying, even her."
"Yeah, well, I don't.. no, I can't stand to see you like that again! I'm not letting it happen again, you understand!?"
"I didn't like it either! But that doesn't mean someone should die because they did something bad!"
"You're not getting it! I can't stand to-"
I clench my hand into a fist and slam it down on the table.
"No! You're not getting it, I told you how I work! Stop acting like you're my parent or older sibling!"
Xenith looks taken aback from my yelling. He grabs his necklace and looks down.
"I-i'm sorry. I don't know what came over me."
"No.. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have yelled at you. I know you're just trying to look out for me."
He smiles at me. He lets go of his necklace walking away to do something else in the house.
"If you know that then I'm happy."
Martix starts repeatedly tapping his finger on the table. It draws my attention and I turn to him.
"Yeah. Well, start being more careful. It took so much to convince Kron to go and get some rest. He looked so anxious about your condition."
"Kron.. yeah, you're right. I'll work on it."
Martix smiles and nods at me.
"Good. Now go to bed. You just recovered from what happened to your arm and now you have those cuts, I don't like that. Go."
"Alright, alright. I'll talk to you guys later then."
They both wave at me as I head to room, going to sleep. Honestly I do feel quite exhausted myself."
---
Stepping through the other side of the portal I see Allison standing there. I smile at her, when I do she raises a brow.
"So I see you didn't get him."
