Chapter 27: Water and Lightning

I smile as I shake my head.

"Good. Because You'd be stupid if you thought I'd ever leave my best friend like that."

Kron grips my hand ever so slightly so he's not crushing it and smiles at me.

"That's good to hear."

I turn around to look at Luxia. She sighs and shakes her head as her gaze then comes back to me.

"That's disappointing. Then again, it was just a test to see if you would."

She continues to walk towards us. Kron takes a step infront of me again to face her.

"Hey, what did I-"

"Oh, quiet you."

She holds out a hand towards him, her eyes flash rhodamine for a second as she does. Kron falls to his knees groaning. I put a hand on his shoulder trying to get his attention.

"Hey! Kron! What's going on?"

The moment I notice Luxia being infront of me, she pushes me up against the wall. Before I can react, she pins me to the wall and grins at me.

"No need to worry about him. I just put some stress on his mind so we could have a bit of alone time."

I start to panic as she gets too close. I try to break free, but to no avail. I feel nothing but fear as I look into her eyes. I can hear my heart racing at this rate.

"Why so scared? I only wish to show my love for you. You know I just can't help it, you look so cute while you struggle."

I start hyperventilating, continuing to try and pull my arms away from her. She laughs at me as I do.

"Now, now. I'd advise you to calm down. If you pass out, there's no way I'm passing up that opportunity to take you back."

Fearing those words, I start to slow my breathing down and stop moving. Luxia smiles at me, giving me a nod.

"There we go. Now save for the taunting, I wasn't intending to do anything else besides seeing if you'd come back to me on your own. So consider yourself safe, you have my word on that."

I let out a sigh of relief when she says that. I look back at her and she's just standing there. Staring at me. Smiling at me. I feel nothing short of uncomfortable.

"Well, I suppose I'm no longer wanted here. So I'll take my leave. That is, not without my parting kiss."

Luxia quickly lets go of my arms and then cups my face and kisses me. I stand there shocked for a quick moment, realizing what's happening I become furious and shove her off me and to the ground hard.

"Agh. Shit, that hurt. Guess I hit a nerve that time."

She chuckles before grinning at me.

"But worth it nonetheless. Not a taste more shockingly good than my little lightning bolt."

"Will you leave already!?"

She laughs, shaking her head. She gets up and pulls out her communication device, a portal appearing shortly after. She turns back to me, smiling.
