Lightning Strikes Twice

Chapter 23: Festival

A full day passes. The five of us are gathered with our belongings as we start walking for the village. Celosia stops for a moment.

"Oh I forgot to mention! In case you guys were worried about having something to wear, I made us all things to wear."

"You did? That's great!"

Celosia stopping us to mention the clothing she had made had ended up throwing us into a fully fledged conversation.

Our talk had lasted awhile, long enough that by the time we had finished, we ended up at the village. Upon entering the village Martix and Celosia lead us to where the inn is.

When getting there Martix and Celosia are greeted by seeming warm welcomes. After some discussion, the siblings return to the group holding four keys. Martix steps forward.

"So we have rooms. But not enough for each of us. So someone's going to have to-"

Celosia snatches one of the keys and grabs Xenith's hand.

"Xenith and I will share a room."

"What!?"

"Oh. Do you not want to?"

"W-well I didn't say-"

"Great! It's settled then!"

Celosia drags Xenith off to their room. Martix blinks and then tosses Kron and I keys.

"If you two need or wanna see me, I'll be going around the village in a minute or two."

As Martix walks off, Kron and I both look at each other. The moment we make eye contact, we both burst out laughing. It seems I wasn't the only one who could barely hold their laughter.

I go to the room my key goes to. Going inside I set my things down and relax on the bed. I end up lying down on it.

"I know its been a week already.. but finally. Some real rest from all the shit that been going down. I'm still worried about Oro, but I have hope I'll be able to save him."

Not wanting to spend the day lying down, I get back up from the bed. I stand up and leave my room, as well as the inn.

Stepping back out into the village I walk around, sort of just sightseeing. I walk around the village for a little while until I see Martix, he's in the distance with some children it seems.

I walk up to him, as I do it seems the kids have left to go on their way.

"Hey Martix, what have you been up to?"

"Oh I had run into some of the neighborhood kids playing, they wanted to play with me for a bit before going."

"Great shot, one of kind personality, and children like you. It's amazing how you're not the one out here with a girl."

"Oh please, knock it off."

"But I'm right!"

Martix rolls his eyes at me. As we keep walking, we pass by a pathway. One that leads to up on a hill, on the hill is nothing but ashes and rubble of a building that clearly once stood there.
