Chapter 25: Stepping In

"Marsh? What about him?"

"Luxia she.. she has him under her control."

I scratch my chin while thinking.

"That's not good. So you want me to help. Wait, but isn't that good for you? That's what she wants, isn't it?"

Allison looks away from me. A look of remorse and disgust. She turns back to me with a worried look.

"Yeah it is good for her. But.. when he was able to get control of himself. I saw his eyes, filled with fear and hurt. I am unquestionably loyal to Luxia. But I refuse to stand aside while this happens to him."

Allison looks sincere when saying that. Ever since we split she had been a lost and bitter person. It strikes me as odd that she feels bad for Marsh and wants to help him in some sort of way.

"Okay. Unfortunately I'll have to make my way around tonight or tomorrow. From what I know she's far more smarter than the average person, so if I were to come right after your return it may cast suspicion on you."

"You don't need to.. thank you Rykor. I'm sorry to drag you into this, but his friends are nearby and not equipped in the slightest. Her building is ways away-"

"From the village consisting of the ruined Anemos residence, I know."

"You do?"

"You really thought you were hidden from me the entire time?"

Allison scoffs at me, then shaking her head. As usual, disapproving of my actions.

"Of course. It's just like you to be that. I think I'll go before I regret asking you to do this. Just be there as soon as possible."

I nod. As I do, Allison turns away and leaves through one of her portals. I set down my sword and return to sorting my things.

"I hope you all can hold out for long enough. I'll do my part if so."

I wake up breathing fast and my hearts racing. I go to bring my hand to my chest to feel my heart beat, I jump as I pull my hand away. Being so used to my arms, I wasn't expecting the cold of my hand. I feel myself covered in sweat. I woke from a horrible dream.

A dream where we never get Marsh back. I sit up rubbing my head, trying to think of what to do. I get up out of bed and start getting dressed. It hurts my head to just think about Luxia having Marsh, I shake my head as I finish up getting ready. I head for the door as I leave the room; I go straight for Xenith and Celosia's room, knocking on their door.

Celosia let's me in giving me a weak smile. Not thinking it until now, I've been carrying a troubled expression the entire since waking up.

"Uh.. Good morning Kron."

"Morning."

"How are you-"

"I'm fine."

She stands there silent for a moment. She then moves out of the doorframe, allowing me in.
