Saving

I haven't felt any kind of bond with anybody for almost half a year. In fact, it was more the opposite, I tried not to get attached to anybody and it wasn't hard. Until I saved him.

Que Diane rapping that one part from Guns and Ships in Hamilton.

"I'm taking this horse by the reins makin' redcoats redder with bloodstains."

"Lafayette."

"AndI'mnevergonnastopuntilImake'emdropandburn'emupandscattertheirremainsI'm-"

"Fucking fast! What the hell man!" Tommy was obviously impressed while Diane shrugged.

"My hamilton phase was very long." Wilbur was surprised to say the least.

"Wait, can you say it slowly please?" His hand on his chin looking at her as she chuckled, agreeing.

"Yeah-" she started mumbling the lyrics before the phrase until she got there.

"And I'm never gonna stop until I make 'em drop and burn 'em up and scatter their remains I'm."

"Now fast." Wilbur's face not changing in the slightest, a finger tapping his chin every now and then.

"I'mnevergonnastopuntilImake'emdropandburn'emupandscattertheirremainsI'm-"

He threw his arms up in the air, storming away from the trio while she laughed at his reaction.

"What?! I'm just good at it." She smirked as he marched back to them. Pointing at her with urgency.

"Do you know Rap God?" She fucking laughed hard, holding her stomach while trying to explain.

"No-*wheeze* No-it was just the way you stomped over here." She stood up, trying to seem as tall as possible. Leaning forward in almost a threatening pose, her hand pointing forward with the index finger as stiff as she could make it.

"Do you know Rap God?" She marched forward with urgency in her steps. Immediately laughing as Wilbur and Tommy laughed as well.

"Did I actually?"

"Yes! And no, I don't know Rap God."

"You'd be fucking spectacular at that."

The conversation left Hamilton and moved on to others, time passed as the trio that was once in the front of the group disbanded and was now separate. The smallest in the middle, remembering how close the destination was.

Surprisingly enough, it wasn't the scent of potent green blood that warned her but it was the step it took. It was so strong as the ground beneath it crumbled, its footstep being much more different and louder than the much weaker ones beside her.

Immediately whistling, the others tensed up.

All stopping, half went silent as few just took it like they didn't care enough. 'Just be quiet and we'll be fine' but that wasn't the case. That was never the case.

"Oh my god" Especially when Sapnap muttered under his breath and immediately got bodied.

The wind knocked out of him as he got pushed to the floor. But he didn't know what the force was, nobody even knew he got pushed until he fell because obviously some commotion would've happened.

A few feet away from him to his right was the exact reason he fell and why everybody had a tiny delay to process what happened.

It was the zombie… wrestling with Diane.

When Sapnap got bodied, it was the zombie tackling him to the ground to eat him but Diane broke the ground beneath her, launching herself at the corpse to make sure it didn't end up on top of Sapnap.

Though it did end up on top of her. She felt like it was trying to bury her into the street as its body weight was much bigger than hers. Its knee digging into her thigh as she kept pushing it off her, using her strength to at least keep it from biting her face off but the teeth made it hard to do that.

"Ah!" The skin started to break on her thigh as it felt like her leg was gonna crack.

Sapnap got pissed and stood back up, marching over to the fight.

"Get off of her!" He kicked it square in the head.

Immediate regret as he grabbed his foot. Screaming in pain as it did nothing to the receiving end.

Except divert its attention.

Its bloodshot pupils staring back at him. He froze, the people behind him doing the same. The knee leaving her thigh as it stood up. Growling at him in hunger.

Well, it wasn't the only thing standing up as Diane picked herself up. Limping toward it as she raised her first.

'You know what, stay right there.' She thought. Her upper body shook as she thrusted her fist forward.

She punched its head, completely decimating it.

Though that amount of strength compared to her small figure was very unbalanced as the punch basically threw her down the street. Somersaulting the whole way before tumbling flat on her face.

Her bruised palms pressed against the concrete, her face lifting up while somebody ran to her.

It was Tubbo, offering a hand as Tommy followed closely behind. She grabbed it, expecting to be lifted until Tubbo exclaimed, he dropped down to her level as she looked down at her hands. Still shaking as she sighed in annoyance.

"Sapnap!" She said in anger.

"Oh no." Sapnap said.

"Why would you talk?!" George questioned him as Sapnap grimaced. He could see Diane getting up by herself and helping Tubbo up. Tommy attempted to help her walk back but she waved him off. Knowing he couldn't help her anyway as she limped back with them beside her.

Sapnap just stood there, not putting pressure on his foot as he awaited the lecture that was to come.

"Ok I think I'm good." She reached out to Tubbo, putting her arm over his shoulder as she looked up to the only other person, her eyes trailing all over him before, sighing in… relief?

"You're not bit. Thank god." She looked over to the street ahead.

"We should get going before it gets dark, it's right around the corner." Jumping on one foot as Tubbo started moving forward to comply with her.

Sapnap was just… confused. He didn't get the lecture he expected. He didn't get a lecture overall, it was like he did nothing wrong and he didn't know why it rubbed him the wrong way.

"Hey, wait!" He took his arm off of Dream and tried to sprint to her, limping the whole way.

"You're not gonna yell at me or something? I almost…-" He trailed off, not wanting to say the truth, 'killed you.' His hand went through his hair in confusion as tension filled the air.

"Died." She finished the sentence for him in her own sense.

"It's not your fault we're moving and it's frustrating. I decided to save you and I wouldn't change it." She said, looking down until she finished. Showing confidence in her statement at the end as she turned back to the street, Tubbo followed her every move like he was the other half of her.

Nobody said anything else as they got closer. Tubbo and Diane in front as they turned the corner. Tubbo gasped while she smiled.

"And I present to you guys…" She saw the others starting to realize what building they were looking at as they rounded the corner.

"Our destination."

Relationships for me were a nuisance but now, they're a blessing. Even if I have to risk myself to keep it.
