Uraraka woke up the next morning in a panic. Not only did she get a horrible nights rest from the stresses earlier that morning, she was running late for her patrol.
She threw on a large pink strawberry milk hoodie over her layers of long sleeve and some black baggy pants. She stomped through her white AirForces and grabbed her keys. She thought she would have had enough time to change into her hero costume at Gunhead's agency, but it was 11:50 and she had not even left the house. Granted, she'd probably be about 5 or 10 minutes late, but she knew she'd get scolded if she was 30 seconds late. She tapped her shoes and began to speed down the streets of Tokyo until she finally arrived at his Agency.
"URAVITY!", a booming voice bellowed and she immediately ducked and slowed down.
"Y-yes sir? Sorry sir! I"-
"I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!", Gunhead yelled.
Is this reverse psychology?
"Uh, what- what?", she asked dazed.
"You're after every section about Diversion on the news! From saving that blonde hero, Dynamite is it? I'm so proud to have you as part of my team.", he cried, his eyes watering.
For a big and buff hero named Gunhead, he sure was emotional.
"Uh, thanks! Bakugo and Endeavor took down such a powerful villain yesterday, I'm glad I could be there for at least one of them when they were down. Anyways, I'll get changed right away!", she squeaked grateful that her work yesterday could be such a valid excuse for today.
"Ah, yes yes. We're leaving in 5 minutes. Hurry!"
That's crazy! The news works fast. The hospital must've said something last night.
Uraraka rushed towards the dressing room and quickly slipped on her hero costume. She was out in three minutes and joined Gunhead on the streets.
They been roaming around the city, but it didn't seem too clogged with villainous acts today. Maybe because yesterday was such a big blow on villains all together. From what everyone had known, that guy had been on the run for a while.
Uraraka was able to tell Gunhead what had happened and he was in awe at her story. He told her there must've been another hero on the scene with some type of transportation quirk when she told him about Bakugo on the beach. Though she found that hard to believe, she admitted that as the most plausible explanation and left it at that. She could always try to ask Bakugo. There's only so much the news will tell.
"So is he your boyfriend?", Gunhead hummed putting his hand over his mouth.
"Wha- Why do you assume every boy I come in contact with is my boyfriend? No!", she said with a blush on her face.
"My apologies, but you just talked about him so highly.", he said snorting.
"Well-I, he's just. Really strong. That's all.", she said with a tight lip. "We're not that close, I'm just proud of him is all. I really do hope he's okay and I'm saying that AS A PERSON with a CONSCIENCE.", she exclaimed.
Gunhead roared at the young woman's response and it sooned turned into a wheeze. After patrolling with Gunhead a couple times, they had become really close as well. Uraraka saw him like a second dad sometimes.
"Aren't you going to visit him?", he asked.
"Well...not really. I'm sure he's fine. Besides I'm patrolling. I can't.",
"Our patrol is just about over and we haven't run into anything. How about you go on back and get changed. Whether you see him or not, good work today. Same time next week young lady?"
Ochaco sighed at her secret love cheerleader and shook his hand.
"Yes, sir.", she said with a smile.
"ON TIME?!", he said loudly.
"Yep!", she squeaked. "Yes, yes, of course. See you later."
She made it back to the agency and got changed. As soon as she walked outside, she looked to her left and to her right. Left would lead her back home where she desperately wanted to go, but right would lead her a short subway ride to the hospital.
Bring bring bring!
Her phone started to buzz and she answered seeing it was Mina.
"Hey Miss Hero! How we doing?", she sang.
"Well, we're all heroes, but I see you know too. Word spreads so fast!", Uraraka exclaimed.
"I mean you're the only one to see our precious Bakugo after everything went down, never mind save him."
"I guess you have a point. Where are you? It's kinda loud."
"Oh, I'm at the arcade with Kirishima and them. I wanted to ask you if you could come with us after we visited Bakugo, but I knew you were patrolling, so I waited till like now, haha."
"Oh so you saw Bakugo already?", she asked with anticipation.
"You didn't?"
"No, no, I saw him already.", she said with a high pitched voice. "But like was like earlier, so I didn't know if he was doing any better."
It's not like she was completely lying, because she did in fact see him earlier.
"Oh! Well he's fine, I think he might be there for like two more days but knowing him he'll want to leave sooner. Recover Girl actually came to help him after surgery, but I'm sure you know all this already. He pretended to be asleep when we all went to visit him, so honestly if you want to visit him again, he'll probably do the same thing."
"Ah, I see. Okay! Well I'm-uh actually still a bit busy, but I'll catch up with you later! We'll hang out! Bye bye!"
"Byeee!"
Ochaco hung up the phone and looked to her left.
No harm on just checking up on him. No one should be there now to make it weird. Why would it be weird? What if he scolds me about helping him out? Oh, if I had saved anyone else from my class, I wouldn't be going through this debate, she groaned internally. This is a pain. Whatever, if he's asleep then it won't matter. Right? Ahhh, if I go home this is gonna start bothering me. FINE, fine, I'm going. Because I SAY so.
"Mommy why is that girl mumbling to herself and walking back and forth like that?", a little boy asked passing the stressed girl.
"It's nothing sweetie, keep moving.", the woman hissed with a smile.
Uraraka turned around slowly and sighed.
Great. Now I'm scaring all the citizens away.
Thanks Bakugo.
