"Really?", Uraraka said softly walking towards the ledge of the roof. "Like what?"
Initially she felt like ignoring Bakugo and being angry, but that plan quickly flew out the window. She knew deep in her heart she didn't have it in her to even be angry at the boy. She had fallen in love, and anything he did, she would most likely let slip by. She also knew she had no right to be angry at him if he was with a another girl. It's not like spending two weeks near each other suddenly made them an item.
Still, it hurt. She stressed her friends telling them tonight how nice she wanted to look just for him. How delicate she wanted to be for him, knowing that wasn't even where his mindset was. As if that would help him fall as hard as she did. Bakugo had held her heart over a cliff, but hung on like his life depended on it. It was a rollercoaster she was afraid of, but enjoyed. She wanted tonight to be the night she finally confessed her feelings to the guy. She planned what to say and what to do, no matter the outcome.
Then she saw her arms wrapped around his waist. Where hers' once was. The pretty girl from before. Her confidence was gone and his grip on her heart had somehow tightened instead of loosened. It wasn't comforting.
At least...that's how she felt before he came up to see her.
Any jealously in her had vanquished and she was filled with butterflies instead. The same butterflies she swore just died. The boys' touching display of affection was sending her over the moon and she was so distracted with the necklace, her mind completely blinded where he was truly trying to conclude to.
"I realized...I liked you're smile. The way you turned everyone's mood around no matter the circumstance."
He followed her to the ledge and crossed his arms while looking up at the sky. It was dark but the night was bright and the stars shone like opening night. He turned to her and gave a serious look.
"Ochaco, look at me."
She turned to him with a heart rate that would put her coach into a fit. She nodded her head and twiddled her fingers. Bakugo held both of her hands and took a deep breath.
"Before I say what I want to say, I want you to keep the necklace. That was always meant to be yours."
"Bakugo, you're scaring me.", she chuckled nervously red in the face.
He looked down for a couple seconds then shook his head. He made eye contact and took a deep breath.
"I like you."
She blinked and she felt a cold rush through her body. Her stomach fell to her feet, but her heart was so, so happy. She couldn't believe her ears.
"I've liked you for a while now.", he continued. "I didn't think how I felt was worth working for...but...the more time I spend with you, I realized how much I want you with me. I sometimes wish I hadn't, because then I wouldn't have had to find out how it felt to like someone. I want us...to be together. But...but I don't care if you don't feel the same, I just...wanted you to know. I needed you to know."
A couple seconds went by and Uraraka had formed the the silliest and the happiest smile on her face.
"I like you, too."
"....Uraraka I'm not messing around, I'm serious."
"I am, too!",she laughed exasperated. "I am dead, 200% serious that I really, really like you."
