"Really?!", she asked with a crazy face.
Bakugo huffed and began walking again.
"Why'd you even ask?"
"I'm sorry! I just didn't think you'd say yes!"
"Then why'd you ask?!"
"You know what, doesn't matter.", she said breathily. "How about noon tomorrow? We can go to Moonlite?"
Bakugo nodded his head as the automatic doors closed on her. Then opened again.
Her face flattened but she knew that's how he'd always been. If anything, she's happy he hadn't yelled at her this entire time, despite the situation they publicly tangled themselves up into. She was more surprised he even said yes.
Part of her was kind of worried that it would be the most awkward time period she'd ever have, but she was kind of excited. She'd never really spent time with Bakugo outside of school, and she already saw he was somewhat of a different person outside of that. She didn't necessarily like him or anything, but she always admired how strong and resilient he was. He seemed so intimidating and untouchable at times that sometimes she'd forget he was just a young adult. One who she went to school with, fought with, cooked with. They should be friends. But they were weren't, and she wanted to change that.
She couldn't pinpoint why, but for some reason, saving him from that day made her realize how far away she was from him. It felt like saving a civilian and not someone she'd known for the past three years. Of course, she knew Bakugo kept up his distance from everyone, so it's not like it was personal. It would be tricky, but she wanted this.
A slight blush came from her cheeks and she scolded herself.
"Just be cool. I'm super cool.", she mumbled. "It's not that serious. You've hung out with Deku alone and you still weren't this nervous."
Except she didn't like him anymore. But that's a different chapter.
She walked in her house and slipped her pajamas back on.
Tomorrow will be fun... hopefully.
THE NEXT DAY
"Bakugooo!",Uraraka called.
Bakugo turned around and sighed at the girl running after him. She was about ten feet away when Bakugo remembered the black ice he just avoided on the sidewalk.
"Uraraka, stop!", he said abruptly.
Too late.
She had slid on the ice but instead of falling directly on her butt, she zoomed toward Bakugo. Almost like he knew it was going to happen. He stepped toward quickly to catch her. Uraraka touched her hands together trying to keep her balance but couldn't help but fall into him. Bakugo caught her arms first so it seemed like they were just giving each other a hug, but her zero gravity kicked in and she began to float slightly. Anyone who didn't know it was her quirk would just think that he was lifting her up to kiss her. Their faces were two inches apart.
They stared at each other for about a second before Uraraka turned beet red and deactivated her quirk leaving Bakugo stunned at what just happened. He removed his hands from her waist immediately and turned around.
"Watch where you're going, you're gonna knock someone's kid over."
"Sorry, sorry, sorry! I just wanted to catch up with you. That's so embarrassing!", she said fanning her face to fade the intimate moment they just had that was now burned in her brain.
"Let's go, before I change my mind.", he mumbled.
"Hey, you sound like my dad.", she said giggling. "But my dad never actually changes his mind. Anyway, I didn't hurt you did I?"
