Uraraka had made her way to the hospital with shaky knees. She was now in front of his hospital room that the sweet nurse had showed her too.
She was going to knock, but the door was already wide open. She peeked from the corner to see Bakugo with some bandages, looking outside from his hospital bed. The window was open slightly causing some wind to blow inside, creating a whispy breeze.
He seems so peaceful. You would never think he's such an angry person from first glance, she thought.
The breeze from the window seemed to be a bit too much for Uraraka's nose and she ended up sneezing.
Bakugo turned his head around to see the awkward girl rubbing her nose.
Oops. Busted.
Bakugo raised his eyebrow then narrowed his eyes.
"H-Hi!", Uraraka said to avoid getting yelled at first. "I, uh, I wanted t-to check up on you. To see how you were doing.."
"I'm fine, obviously.", he said flatly. "Why wouldn't I be?"
She puffed her cheeks and walked closer to him.
"Well, you were in pretty bad shape earlier, so I wanted to make sure."
He cut his eyes and turned back toward the window. Now she was getting slightly irritated.
"You could be a little nicer you know. I was scared to death last night for you I couldn't even sleep! The least you could do is say hi."
"Poor you. You see I'm good now. What more do you want.", he mumbled looking away.
"Can I ask how'd you even get there? At the beach?"
Bakugo tensed up slightly and narrowed his eyes again.
"It's none of your freakin' business.", he said raising his voice. "Just g"-
Suddenly the cut on his eyebrow had reopened and began to bleed slightly.
"D*mmit.", he hissed.
"I-I'm sorry!", she squeaked. "I shouldn't have said anything."
She quickly got one of the alcohol pads next to her on the dresser and leaned over on his bed to dab it. Bakugo hesitated at first, but was in no real position to back away. Her brown doe eyes were right near his crimson ones and he immediately looked away. Her hands were soft on his forehead and somehow brought him a sense of comfort. He relaxed and let her clean the wound. She put a bandage specifically for near the eye area and sighed.
"There. All good.", she said with pride.
"Thanks.", he mumbled.
"Aw, that's the first thank you I've heard all day!", she giggled.
"You made me yell and reopened it in the first place.", he grumbled.
"Yeah...I'm sorry.", she said quietly and sat back down. "So, uh when are you planning to leave?"
"You're so nosy."
"It's a mild question."
"Tomorrow."
"Tomorrow?!".
"What are you deaf round face?"
"N-no! But aren't you still hurt? Shouldn't you stay a little longer?"
"I can walk just fine. What's the point in staying?"
"Even after all that no way! Let me see!"
"See what?", he asked annoyed.
"Your stomach of course! There's no way it healed that fast!"
"Don't be weird.", he said with a tint of pink in his cheeks.
"I'm not! But weren't you-struck with something?", she asked. "Your stitches couldn't have healed yet."
"You're so annoying...see?"
Bakugo opened his shirt to show a 2 inch scar on the right side of his abdomen. There were still stitches there, but they weren't really necessary.
"Oh, I see.", she whispered her eyes getting watery.
"Are you crying, seriously? I'm the one who got hurt.", Bakugo scoffed.
"Yeah, but. I don't know. You were bleeding so much yesterday, and... and it got on me too and I was so worried and now you have a bad scar. Like what if there was something else I could've done.", she said wiping her eyes.
Bakugo looked at the girl in astonishment at how fast she started to get so emotional. About him. Did she care that much? He didn't really know what to do, and even after 3 years of school together, he's only seen her cry one other time.
"Hey."
"Huh?", she sniffed.
"Don't cry. I'm okay. Okay?", he said calmly.
She looked up to see his calm face looking right into her eyes. A look she'd never really seen before. He touched his mark and shook his head.
"This isn't the last scar I'm gonna get. It's not my first either. It's part of our job. You know that already. So suck it up."
She nodded her head and took a deep breath.
"You're right. I'm not sure what came over me.", she laughed breathily. "I guess I just didn't expect it to heal so soon. Recovery girl did a great job. You never would've thought that happened today."
"Yeah, she did."
A silence flooded the room and she immediately turned red.
Oh my gosh. I was staring so hard at his stomach. His abs and everything are just on full display and I'm just staring! So embarrassing!
"Are you good now? You look kind of red.", Bakugo said nonchalantly.
"No! Yeah! Yeah I'm fine, no worries! Just worry about getting better!", she squeaked.
"I don't worry."
"Yeah, yeah I bet!", she said her voice still high. "Anyway, you should keep it covered, just in case it's not healed you know?!"
She tried to cover his stitches with his hospital shirt but she let too fast and her hand grazed across his entire abdomen.
"I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to do that.", she laughed nervously.
Bakugo's face had flushed from the random touch so he immediately looked up not to face her.
"You're still so clumsy.", he sighed turning his face away from hers and tied his shirt back up.
"Well, I probably should be going now anyway. I'll see you later!", she said standing up.
"Wait.", he said grabbing her hand.
Uraraka looked at him with her round eyes and her breath hitched.
He didn't say anything for a moment.
"Thank you. For helping me.", he said not meeting her eyes.
Her face lit up and she immediately became flustered.
"W-well, anyone would've done the same thing if they could've! Don't mention it!", she blushed.
"Yeah, okay.", he said letting her hand go, which to Uraraka's surprise, made her kind of sad.
"Rest well, Bakugo. Maybe I'll see you tomorrow?", she asked.
"I don't care what you do.", he said.
She giggled and closed his door.
That was...interesting.
