It was 7:34. There was the loud, incessant banging of knuckles on my door. I tried to ignore it as I have been for the past hour, but I caved.

“I’m coming!” I yelled as I walked over to my bedroom door. I pulled it open and found Meredith standing there with a smirk. “Yes?”

“Louis called,” she began and walked past me. Meredith jumped on my bed, sending my pillows flying.

I paused, not able to pick up the importance because her boyfriend called her. “And?”

“He said that Niall told him that he doesn’t need you to dress up for the date.”

I closed my eyes and covered my eyes. I did not need this right now- I was stressing out about the date and then Meredith had to come in and be all confusing.

“What the hell are you saying?”

“Niall doesn’t want you to get all fancy and Barbie-d up for tonight.” She explained. “In fact, he specifically told Louis to tell me that it was more of a sweatpants occasion.”

“And why couldn’t he just tell me this himself?” I sat down next to her and fell onto my back in exhaustion. I had just spent hours with Mattie and Janessa trying to pick out an outfit from my enormous collection and now it turns out it was for naut.

“Apparently Niall said something about it ruining the night or something.” Meredith sighed and joined me as she lay down as well. “If you ask me, it sounds an awful like a wedding. You know- how the groom’s not allowed to see or talk to the bride on the ‘big day’.”

“Hun, this is a date. We’re not getting married. It’s our last night together and we want to do something special together.”

Meredith laughed and got up. “Uh huh- something special. I got it. No need to say it again. I’ll just leave you to your business now.” She winked at me, making me blush deeply.

“Meredith! Please don’t! Stop making funny faces!” I swatted at her but she jumped back. “Where is the innocence you had when you were younger?!”

“And the way you and Niall have been acting in the mornings, I’d guess that you’ve lost your innocence as well.”

She laughed again and ran for the door as I charged after her, seething with embarrassment and a bit of anger.

“Meredith!” I cried, chasing her around the hallways corning and into the living room. “Mind your own business!”

“What is happening?” Ariel asked, turning around on the couch where she had been watching a show. She turned to me. “What did Meredith say now?”

“Why is it always me that’s done something wrong?” Meredith whined.

Ariel turned to her. “Do you really want to ask that question? It’s always you.”

“Always?”

Ariel shrugged. “Well- most of the time.”

“Eh, whatevs.” Meredith cocked her hips and crossed her arms. I did not like that look on her face; it was the look she had when she was about to do something mischievous. “Hey, Ariel. Guess what Amelia and Niall like to do in their spare time.”

“Oh, come on, Meredith.” Ariel turned back to the tellie, obviously done with the conversation. “I think everyone here knows what goes on behind closed doors when it concerns two people who love each other. You want to tell me nothing’s happened between you and Louis?”

It was Meredith’s turn to blush. She threw her arms out. “I’m out, bitches. I also have a date with Louis, seeing as it is also my last night with my boyfriend.” She walks towards the kitchen where her mobile was charging and grabs it, shoving it in her back pocket. I just noticed what she was wearing, and it was a lot more put together than normally. It was a light blue jean button-up under a tan sweater with a pair of dark jeans. Her leather boots sagged out from years of wear but her blond ringlets were as fresh as ever.
