I watched as time slowly ticked by. It was 2:00 now, and we were all watching TV. We were watching Doctor Who, much to my delight. Luckily I had been blessed with Meredith and Mattie, who were also hardcore Whovians.
The previous episode ended and I went back to the menu to choose what to watch next.
"What do you want now?" I asked them all, as I was the one holding the remote.
"No more Doctor Who!" Ariel protested as she stared down at her phone.
"No- more!" Mattie cheered. We had chosen sides on which was better- Doctor Who or Harry Potter, and Ariel had chosen the wizarding world while Meredith, Mattie and I had chosen the timelord. Janessa had decided to go neutral, as she'd never seen Harry Potter or Doctor Who before. A crime- I know.
"Water on Mars!" Meredith begged for her favorite episode, but I shook my head.
"I think we should watch The Impossible Astronaut." I grin smugly and select the episode I chose.
"Why does she get to choose?" Mattie moaned and threw herself back onto the couch.
"Why are we even watching Doctor Who?" Ariel added, now putting her phone away.
Meredith crossed her arms. "Ariel, when you go on a date with Zayn, you will be superior over us. Amelia has accomplished everything she needs in life, so she gets to choose what we watch."
"Hey!" I laugh at Meredith. "Going on this date is nothing everything I need in life!"
"But it's darn close." She muttered, turning her attention to the screen.
I sighed and leaned back on the couch next to Mattie, who had sprawled herself over as much space as she could. Janessa was sitting like a normal person, and Ariel was lying on the other couch, her feet on Meredith's lap.
We watched the episode and I was at the edge of my seat. I could not understand why Moffat would do that to us; I remembered to when I had first watched this episode- I was heartbroken. But Moffat was a genius and it all worked out in the end.
I kept looking nervously at the clock, silently wishing that time would go by faster. It was now quarter to three and the clock was mocking me by going by sluggishly.
"Oh, for hamster's sake!" Meredith exclaimed as the episode was coming to a close.
I jumped slightly and turned to her, my eyebrows scrunched together. "Is there something I could help you with?"
Meredith rubbed her hands over her eyes. "Why is it taking SO LONG?!" She dragged out the words to make her point.
Beside her, Ariel groaned as well. "I know, right?! Seriously!"
"I understand what you mean." Janessa giggled.
Mattie lazily rolled her head to face me. "How are you alive and so calm right now, Amelia?"
"Have you seen what time it is?!" Meredith jumped up from the couch and ran over to point at the clock.
I paused. "Yeah, I know the time."
"You've got twenty minutes till you go out with the boy you've been in love with for the past two years and look at you- you're just sitting there!" Meredith waved her hands all over the place dramatically.
"Trust me; I'm freaking out on the inside." I took a deep breath. "I just- don't want to look like a total fangirl when I see him again."
"But you are a total fangirl!" Ariel laughed loudly.
"But I don't want to look like one!" I argued playfully and Mattie slung her arm around my shoulder, looking me dead in the eyes.
"Amelia," she began with a serious expression on her face. "If you happen to marry Niall, can I be your maid of honor?"
