There was no telling who the first to run to the door was, but soon we were all crowded around, trying to look through the peep hole.
"Move your fat ass!" Meredith hissed quietly, but who she was talking to was unclear.
"You move yours!" Ariel retorted and I grabbed them by their shoulder to yank them back.
"Both of you- get back over to the couch! I'll let them in so that you don't attack them before you're even introduced!" I managed to calm them down and they obeyed, walking back over to the couches. They sat down, staring at me intently as I turned back to the door.
I took a deep breath and rest my hand on the door knob.
"Everything is going to be fine, Amelia." I whispered to myself; the boys were good boys- from what I had heard from Niall- and the girls were slightly sane. I knew they would behave. It would be difficult to tame them at this sort of moment, but I think I could do it.
The door clicked open to reveal five smiling boys. I could easily identify Louis, Liam, Zayn, Harry and Niall. They were pretty casually dressed, but they looked fantastic. I couldn't help but smile and wonder if Niall chose that shirt to wear because it had a bowtie on it (bowties are cool).
"Come on in, guys!" I opened the door wider and they walked in, each of them giving me a quick peck on the cheek. And with each kiss, my cheeks grew hotter. Niall was last and I could feel his kiss lasting a bit longer than the others, his lips lingering slightly over my cheek.
"Thanks for having us, Amelia." Those few simple words sent shivers down my spine, his accent clinging thick to his words.
I gave him a hug and he squeezed me tight. "It's no problem, Niall."
Our easy conversation may seem mindless and easy to the outside world, but I knew what it really meant.
When Niall said "thanks for having us, Amelia", he meant "I really like you, Amelia." And when I said "it's no problem, Niall", I really meant "I like you, too, Niall."
He walked past me, his hand brushing against mine, sending my heart into a frenzy.
Come on, Amelia. You can do this.
I turned back to the girls; they seemed pretty chill, but I caught them looking at each other with a 'is this really real?' face, making me smirk. I wasn't an old hand at hanging out with celebrities- basically the opposite. Here I was, having a casual night in with my five best friends and the five boys we loved. Just the idea gave me goose bumps.
I walked over to the couches, watching as the girls paired up with a boy and were talking. I couldn't tell if it was a coincidence or not, but each girl was with the boy they liked the most. Niall was sitting in the middle next to the food, happily snacking on some crisps as he listened to the conversations around him.
Ariel and Zayn were discussing something that I couldn't quite pick up on, but she had that wide smile which meant she was talking about something she really loved- which was either football or the Last Airbender. Ariel wasn't normally a geek, but she got hooked on this show. From what I had learned in my past years on hardcore Directioner-ing, I knew that Zayn wasn't the most athletic. So maybe he liked Avatar as well? That would score him mega brownie points with Ariel, besides the fact that he was Zayn Malik.
Mattie and Liam were sitting next to Ariel and Zayn, holding up mild chatter. They were laughing every few seconds, and I hoped that they weren't telling each other all the weird stuff that their respective friends have done. Mattie had a lot of dirt on us, and no doubt Liam did as well.
Janessa and Harry were lounging on the second couch, and I had to hold back laughter. It was plain to see that he was pulling out all his charm to try and pull her, but she was completely oblivious to it. Janessa probably thought that he was being nice! Harry's cheeky smile and dimples were being flashed every moment possible, and a smile never left Janessa's lips.
