I felt Niall’s hand brush against mine as we stood in the concession line. I tried to brush if off as he was standing so close, but my mind froze when he laced his fingers with mine. I turned my gaze from the menu on the wall to our hands. They seemed to fit together perfectly and I blushed, looking up at Niall.

He had a silly smirk on as he continued to look at the options and I stepped closer to him. He gave my hand a tight squeeze and turned to face me.

“Alright, love. What do you want to eat?”

I turned to the board and pondered the choices. Movie food was always the best and I was never able to limit myself. Hopefully Niall wouldn’t think I was a fat pig.

“Could I get a Dr. Pepper, a bag of peanut butter M&M’s, and some popcorn?” I glanced at him to see his reaction and he was smiling at me widely.

“Most girls don’t eat around me.” He admitted and I laughed. The idea of starving myself was ridiculous.

“I’m not giving food up for anyone.”

Niall chuckled and we make our way up to the front of the line. Niall bought our food and I promised to pay him back later- he told me not to even dream of it because he pays on every date. I smiled and walked over to the dark corridor that led to the different theatres.

We found the door that had a large neon sign outside reading ‘The Avengers’ and we walked inside. The large room was already dark and I could hear Niall sigh in relief. I had no idea what would happen if he was spotted. Hopefully they would have the decency to realize that we were on a date and not bug him. It felt funny to think that I was on a date with him. Everything was just so surreal.

Niall pointed out seats on the back row with his free hand and I walked up first, Niall following close behind. I settled down next to Niall and grabbed a big handful of popcorn, slowly eating it. Soon the trailers were over and the movie began. I could barely contain my excitement- it took all my willpower to stop myself from bouncing in my seat. Still, after five times of seeing it before, I loved this movie to death. Captain America was by far my favorite; I loved it when boys had manners and were old-fashioned. I glanced over at Niall who was taking a sip of his drink. He was blonde, well mannered, polite… I was noticing a trend.

The movie came into stride and I couldn’t stop smiling. Part of it was from the movie, part of it was from the boy sitting to my right.

I was at my favorite part when Natasha was talking to Loki in the holding cell. It amazed me how awesome she was. She pretended to be weak and easily manipulated, but in truth she was very strong and smart.

I felt a pair of eyes on me and I knew it was Niall. He had torn his eyes away from the screen and was looking at me instead. I didn’t understand why he was watching me, and I became very self-conscious. I tried to ignore it and keep my attention on the movie but I kept overanalyzing it. Was he having doubts? Was he going to walk out and leave me?

Before I could put too much thought into it, Niall slung his arm around my shoulder casually. At first I froze, not really sure what to do. I’ve never had a boy do that to me before. I did what felt natural and scooted closer to him, leaning on his shoulder. We stayed like that for the remainder of the movie. And to be honest, after that I wasn’t really paying attention to the action on the screen. All I could think about what the perfect boy who kept trying to get close to me.

The movie ended and Niall moved his arm away, stretching. I stayed frozen where I was and when he stood up I grabbed his hand to stop him. The bonus clip at the end was short, but I stayed after for it every time. Niall looked down at my hand and then sat down confusedly. I gave him a quick smile and then turned back to the screen. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Niall do the same and we patiently waited in silence as the rest left the room, oblivious to the extra scene.
