25 - Stage 1

I sat down next to his hospital bed. This was the first time seeing him for 5 hours. The doctors hadn't allowed me to see him, so they could focus on him instead of me, so I had been waiting alone in the visitors room. A nurse checked in on me a couple of times to make sure I got some water.

A doctor walked in as I looked at my sleeping Sebastian. "Ms. Y/L/N?", he asked. Without moving my eyes I nodded. "I'm doctor Verne, but just call me Pete", he started and cleared his throat before continuing. "Sebastian is going to survive, but he will be sleeping a lot since his condition is using a..." "What condition", I asked still not looking away. Pete cleared his throat again. "I'm sure mr. Stan has told you everything", he said and I shook my head so he would explain it to me. "Alright. Sebastian is diagnosed with stage 1 cancer in his left kidney, which means..." "He's what", I said shocked and cut him off again. This time I had to look Pete into the eyes.

Pete was a young doctor, with short blonde hair. He was tall, skinny and reminded me of a skeleton just a bit more tan.

"I'm sorry Y/N but it is true. Luckily we found the cancer in time so we should be able to remove it in surgery before it spreads", he sighed and handed me a brochure with the headline 'Cancer? What's next?'. "I'll leave you too alone, but call a nurse if anything happenes alright?" I nodded. When he was sure I understood he gave me a quick smile before leaving the room and closing the door behind him.

I was alone with Sebastians lifeless body, the brochure with a dumbass title and my stupid thoughts. I should've known something was wrong, but why didn't I? I would've cried if I had anymore tears left in me, but I had already shed them all. My boyfriend had cancer and I wasn't there for him.

Sebastian was still asleep when his mom arrived. Luckily a doctor told her what had happened so I didn't have to, but surprisingly she put her own needs aside and helped comfort me, even though we had never met. She made sure I ate and drank, took care of the paperwork, and tried to make me sleep, but when she knew I couldn't she just talked to me.

2 days later my body was finally able to sleep, but only because I hadn't slept in days. Mrs. Stan hadn't left me since she arrived and I really liked her, even though it was hard to understand her because of her thick romanian accent.

I woke up with a blanket over me. Sebastians mom wasn't there, so I figured she was out for some air. I looked at my phone. It had been blowing up since I wasn't answering, and people wanted to be sure I was okay. Since I didn't have anything else to do I figured I would tell everyone I was alright.

This saturday after the party
I got home and suddenly Seb
couldn't breathe. I called 911
and when we got to the hospital
I found out Sebastian has stage 1
cancer, and he have known for a while.
He's been sleeping for the last 3 days
and the doctors says it's normal.
All we can do is wait till he wakes
up so he can have surgery.

"Hey Y/N", Anthony said as he walked into the room. "Thought you wanted some real food." He handed he a pizza box. "Thanks", I chuckled. He was right. The most tastefull thing at the hospital was the candy in the vending machine, which I couldn't eat all the time.

He sat down on the chair on the other side of Sebastian. "Still not a word huh", he mumbled and looked down at the sleeping beauty. "Geez man why didn't you say anything..." I could hear he was holding in his tears. I opened the box and grabbed a piece before handing him the box so he could get something to eat. He took a piece and placed the box on a table.

"How are the boys", I asked him to break the silence. "They're good", he answered and took a bite of his slice. "When I told them I was going to visit you they begged me to see you. They miss you." "When we get home I'll facetime them", I chuckled.

Silence.

It wasn't  because we didn't have anything to talk about, but we didn't want to. The only thing we wanted was for Sebastian to wake up.

But he didn't.

Okay so this is a really emotional chapter, and kinda chaotic, but I think it makes sense to write it like this, so we can feel all the pain and love (sorry)

I've been kinda busy with school which is why I probably won't be updating as much as before, but I'm trying my best!
