"So Y/N when was the last time you saw your sister", the pale prosecutor David asked as he got up from his chair to stand in front of me. I knew this wasn't going to be easy, so I swallowed the lump in my throat and took a deep breath before I answered. "7 days ago. At 2PM." The answer I had given at least thousands of times. "And what was she like?" he questioned and crossed his arms. "Can you tell us what exactly happened that day?" I made eyecontact with Sebastian who's eyes told me to calm down.

"My boyfriend and I had just gotten home from his stay at the hospital. My mom and Charlie was on a visit to support us, and when my boyfriend was healthy my mom had to go back to Canada for work, but Charlie asked if she could stay a couple of days since she thought I needed help taking care of Sebastian, so of course I said yes. We have a spare room she could use and we loved the idea of having her around. She had been out shopping and when she got home and walked into the living room, she looked so.... happy. I haven't seen such a happy smile on her ever. She told me she was dating someone, who happened to be a friend I weren't on speaking terms with at the moment, and since he was older than her, and I knew I was going to be seeing a lot of him in the future, I decided to go talk with him, you know, to clear things out between us. Sebastian drove me to his house, and my friend and I had the talk. We decided they should continue dating, since I wasn't in charge of my sisters relationships even though she could still be a typical 18 year old, but she was mature enough to decide who she could date and not, and umm..."

I hesitated. It was too hard to talk about her in past tense, and the lump in my throat just got bigger and bigger as I spoke. David walked closer to me and lightly squeezed my hand. "I know this is hard Y/N...", he sighed and formed a sad smile on his lips. "But I have to ask you what happened next." I took in a deep breath to hold back my tears.

"As we were talking someone suddenly called me from an unknown number. When I pick it up, the person, the girl, she sounded scared and confused, so I try to calm her down... and umm... That's when I realise... It's my baby sister..." I looked down at my hands that I moved away from David. "I don't remember what she said, other than goodbye, and then the last tone, which ended the call..."

"It's okay Y/N", David said and walked back to his colleagues who gave him a computer. "You don't have to say anything." He opened the laptop and showed it to the judge. "Because we got the recording right here, if I may your honor." The judge looked at me. "Ms. Y/L/N?", he asked. I nodded and let him know I was okay with it. I needed to hear her voice again. He turned to David again and played the recording.

"Y/N?"
I Immediately recognised her voice.

"This is her. Who is it?"
"Doesn't matter. I just wanted to confess something."
"Okay?.."
Hearing myself being so dumb only made it more painfull.

"I'm sorry do I know you?"
"If you did it wouldn't matter"
"Charlie what are you doing? This isn't funny."
"I know. I'm sorry."
"No I'm sorry. Where are you?"
Hearing her sobs made me cry. I couldn't keep it in anymore, even though I knew the audience were going to stare at me.

"Charlie this isn't you! ...Charlie listen to me! I'm going to pick you up and then we're going to get pizza alright?"
"It's to late... I've already made my decision. Goodbye Y/N..."
"CHARLIE DON'T YOU DARE TO DO THIS TO ME!"
I hid my face in my hands as I remembered the lost words Charlie would ever say to me. The words that was burned into my mind for the rest of my life. The words I wished I used before letting her go.

"I love you."

There was a moment of silence, until I wasn't crying anymore and was ready to continue. As I looked up from my palms I noticed they were all starring at me, some of them with tears in their eyes. But I didn't care about them. Only Sebastian. He was still sitting behind the prosecutors and was wiping away tears from his cheek. He looked much older from here, with his messy long hair and beard, and the wrinkles he made when he was worried. He showed a sad smile, letting me know he was proud.

"That was all your honor", David mumbled and got back in his seat. The judge turned to the defence, where the indicted were missing, because they wanted to protect him and me. Thankfully I didn't have to look him into the eyes. A man in a purple suit got up and cleared his throat.

"Y/N I am so sorry for your loss", he said and walked towards me. "But I have to ask you a question." I nodded and took a deep breath. "Why did you let your little sister walk alone in a city she didn't know?" Even the judge gasped by his words. "E-excuse me", I stuttered, shocked that he dared to ask me that.

"She was a child, and you left her alone in the big city with no supervice. Do you really think that was a good idea?" "Your honor I don't see how that has anything to do with the case", David said and stopped the purple suited man from saying anything else. The judge looked disapointed at the defence. "Why are you asking this", he asked. The man with the purple suit looked at the judge.

"Well because maybe ms. Y/L/N forgot to protect her sister? Have you thought about that? I don't say that my client is innocent and have a clear past, but why would someone ever let their 18 year old sister walk alone in a city she's never been in before? In my opinion that is the worst care I've seen in years. Why did you leave her alone Y/N? Were you angry at her for dating your so called friend? Was she really happy? Because in my files I can see she's had multiple depressions, most of them right after your father left you at the age of 7 and 10, which also could explain why you did something so imature and left her alone. Because you suffer from trauma. You don't let people see who you really are, which you've said yourself in interviews and I quote; 'I don't have a lot of friends, mostly because I'm not good at opening up'. You wouldn't even let your sister in, and now she's gone. All because you didn't take care of her."

My blood was boiling. "How dare you to even say such stuff", I shouted and got up on my feet. "I loved her more than anything, and yes our dad left us at a young age but that has nothing to do with her death. Your client did this. Not me. Not my dad. Only your client. I don't know why, but he did. She was 18. She got raped by a 50 year old man for gods sake! I was gone for 5 minutes, because I wanted to make her happy. I let go of my own problems so she could be happy. And now you're telling me I did a bad job? You know what, you're just as bad as your client. And do you want to know why? Because you're defending him, who we all know is guilty, and acuse me, her sister, instead. You should be ashamed of yourself."

"Ms. Y/L/N please calm down", the judge whispered to me while the audience nodded as they agreed to my words. I fixed my clothes again and sat down on the chair. The man in the purple suit was speechless and sat down on his chair again, not moving his eyes from the disapointed judge. "We will be back with a decesion", the judge said sternly and hammered one time into his table. We all stood up. I searched for Sebastian in the crowd, but couldn't find him. I needed to stop my search as most of the people in the audience was trying to comfort me. But it didn't help. The only person who could was him. My Sebastian.
