"We're all gathered here today to say our last goodbyes to a person we all held close to our hearts." As the priest spoke I started to cry, but I didn't know why. I didn't know this person, I just hated funerals. "Will the family please step forward." I watched as 3 people all wearing black took a step closer to the coffin. I didn't know them either. They each put a white rose on the coffin before they looked at me. I looked down and remembered I held a rose too. I quickly put the rose down with the others and took a step back again.

"Now it is time for your speech." The woman next to me who was wearing a black viel opened the piece of paper she was holding in her hands.

"Dear friends and family...", she started before breaking into tears. I squeezed her hand trying to give her comfort but it didn't work. Instead she handed me the paper so I could read it.

"Dear family and friends... This wasn't how we all thought this life was going to end. I didn't. I thought I was going to see my son get old, start a family and maybe get married, but God had a different plan. My son has suffered enough these last few months, and even though I am in grief, I am glad my son finally can get the peace he deserves..." I took a deep breath before continuing. "As you all know, my son was one of the few good people that has been on this earth. He deserves the best, even if it means he had to leave us so soon. And to you my son, don't forget that mamma loves you, no matter how far away you are... Till we meet again my dearest..."

I couldn't finish the speech when I read the last word. I fell down on my knees and dropped the paper. I wasn't ready to say goodbye, not yet. I knew who was in the coffin, and I couldn't believe it. As I opened my eyes, I could only skim the people around me from my blurred sight. The only thing that was clear was the last word written on the paper.

Sebastian.
