Chapter 23

"So you come in and expect me to do a powerful spell with just these two items?" Sofia exclaimed "who do you think I am? I'm not an elder, I'm not a powerful witch, I sell voodoo items, I barely do magic anyway, I'm just in the coven" she explained

"Please, Sofia, she said you could do it" I pleaded

"I can try, it won't work, I guarantee that, I don't even know the spell or anything!" She stated

"How about if I get you my mothers grimoire?" I asked, already prepared in pulling it out of the satchel I carried

"Wow, that's a powerful book" she said, taking it out of my hand and flicking through "aha! It's here!" She shouted with glee but her smile dropped

"What is it?" All of my mothers spells came with a side affect

"It's not to bring someone back to life, frankly I can't find it, it is to lower the boundaries to the other side which means anyone can get through" she began "if you want her back, we will have to take the risk of letting other back through, plus we need someone for them to pass through, someone immortal" she looked at me

"I'll do it, I can't die" I volunteered

"It'll hurt a lot and many people will want to pass through you, you have the responsibility of stopping them" she explained, to which I nodded my head

"If it'll bring her back, I'll do anything" I choked down a lump in my throat and kept strong for the both is us.

"Okay, well, we need an item belonging to her and your blood, I think that's it" she said, scanning the page "yep that's it, but it can only be done on a full moon and when it is at it's apex"

"The full moon is tonight, it'll reach apex at midnight" I realised "we can do it then" Sofia nodded to me and sat back down

"So you have" she looked at her watch "about 12 hours, maybe we can do some things, communicate with her?" She suggested

"That would be wonderful" I smiled

"Okay I need something of hers" she asked, to which I retrieved the teddy bear.

She took it and placed it in the middle of the table that we both sat at

"If we get through, we'll be thrusted to her mind, where you can't make contact or else the link will be broken, you can only talk" she explained, after consenting, she held my hand and began chanting.

Suddenly we were jolted into a dark place, I could barely make out anybody, even Sofia.

"Elijah?" A voice called "Elijah what are you doing her? You shouldn't be here, he will kill you" she exclaimed

"Amelia" I exclaimed, recognising the voice "why can't I be here, who's he?"

"Elijah it's Mikael, he's here and you shouldn't be"

"Why? He is dead and I am not" I argued, looking at her tear stained face

"Don't you see? He's torchering me, and I cant escape because I'm dead, he can't kill me. But he can kill you, you're alive and the boundaries of the other side are crumbling down, that's how I made contact, I need you to get me out" she screamed

My fear Rose at the name of my father, he was here and he would certainly want to come back through the border "Amelia, if I bring you back , there is a risk that Mikael will come back to" I exclaimed, her face dropped and fear washed over her eyes, more intense than before

"He can't come back Elijah" she shook her head, wind began to blow strongly, blowing her hair across her face "if it risks him living, you have to leave me then"

"I can't leave you here" I exclaimed

"Soon the boundary will break down and the other side will go" she shouted over the noise of the wind "that means all of the dead will disappear, hopefully it will be to peace and away from any torcher, those odds I'm willing to take for your safety"

"I can't leave you, even if I have the slightest chance, I'll take it" I argued

And it went silent, all but the sound of the same music box that laid on her desk "he's here" she whispered "go now"

"I'm not leaving" I said

"Elijah I'm dead! Let me go. Please" she silently argued. A figure stepped from the shadows and took form of Mikael. "Go" she said before running up to me and touching me, forcing me to break the link and jump back into reality.

Not breaking my gaze with Sofia, she shook her head

"I'm not doing that, she can stay there" she exclaimed , after witnessing the events

"I'm willing to take that risk Sofia and if you can't do it, I'll get someone else and either way, the boundary will be undone" I argued, I didn't realise that I had pinned the scared woman up against the wall in my temper, she whimpered slightly after nodding her head.

"Okay , tonight" I said "I'll alert the vampires and we will ready the white oak stake"
