Juilliard University, NY, 2021

Fiona's POV:

*a few weeks later*

A few weeks have passed, which actually always consisted of the same program. For me it was rehearsing for the performance, Melanie had her stress with her two auditions and Julie had to compose and present several songs for her lessons herself.

So the pressure and stress was pretty high for all of us, which meant that we could rarely do anything together. The incident with Melanie opened my eyes even more. Health comes first... Because I am not really different from her. If something important is on the agenda, I'm actually at the back of the queue. But I had to promise Melanie that I would slow down a bit and not collapse.

However, soon an end with all this stress is approaching. Because already tomorrow are the semester break. Only our theater tonight must go smoothly over the stage, then it's done.

The last weeks were hard. The focus was completely on the Romeo and Juliet performance. It's just incredibly important for my future at Juilliard. But you know... A dream can not become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work.

I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has had to overcome while trying to succeed because hidden behind nice things, is a lot of hard work.

Through the endless rehearsals, I also spent quite a bit of time with Jake. To be honest, I don't know how things are between us. I would say - complicated.

At least our personal problems didn't get in the way and we somehow managed to spend so many hours together without anything escalating.

Anyway, I didn't have time to think about it. When I had breaks, I could count on my good friends, actually my family here. Everyone had an open ear for me.

I finally had a brother. My brother Alex, who was the one with the best advice, the best motivation and the one who gave me endless love. Here in New York, he is my home. He makes me feel close to my family, and why? Because he is my family!

And since my girls themselves had a lot on their plate, my bond with Luke also became stronger and stronger. For some reason he always knows exactly what to say to calm me down, motivate me or provoke me. He's just been by my side the whole time since the audition and has been with me until tonight - the day of the performance. He showed me everything that was holding me back and made me overcome those sides to make tonight a success.

"Morning little Mercs"

"Hey, good morning Lukey"

"Oh no, you don't even start with that."

I shrug and give him a provocative smile. He can't help but lightly shake his head.

I didn't get a bite down earlier because my nervousness is already extremely high now, even though it's still 10 hours until the performance. That's why I'm glad that Luke can distract me a little. That he creates namely like almost no other.

"Stop thinking about tonight. Now I'm here."

"Why do you suddenly know what I'm thinking about? Do ghosts
have some psychic ability I don't know about yet, hmm?"

"Well, I'm full of secrets," he winks.

"Yeah, I'm well aware of that," I smile back.
