• Chapter XVI •

Disneyland, CA, 2021

Fiona's POV:

These days here not only fulfil Melanie's childhood dream, but also mine. I'd say with that I've killed two birds with one stone. The idea of Disneyland has been on my mind since her 16th birthday. Now it has finally worked out. I hope she won't forget this birthday present in a hurry.

Reggie has already made sure of that anyway. Yes, they call Disneyland magical, but does anyone really believe that? I didn't until now, well until yesterday.

I'm just happy when I see Melanie's eyes sparkle. I'm in a good mood when she is. This is supposed to be all about her. I mean hello? She just turned 18! My little bodyguard has grown up.

To ensure her happiness in the next few days I have put my problems in the background. I spend a lot of time here together with the boys, together with Luke. I have to admit it's not exactly what I'd like to do, as we still haven't really talked since the incident at my gig. I wouldn't even know what to say. Why should I talk when I don't know what I did wrong in the first place. He was actually so happy for me, only until the end...

Oh, I just said it's supposed to be about Melanie these days, so let's go!

In our hotel where we are staying we have rented a small apartment with a nice terrace. From there you have a perfect view over the whole park. You can even see directly to the Disneyland castle. As an extra surprise, I made sure that there was a Jacuzzi on our terrace. I'm just a great friend. That's why we got into the jacuzzi first thing this morning and had a nice breakfast.

Orange juice, croissants, eggs and pancakes.

"Melanie, Julie what are you going to wear today?"

"I think I'll wear my matching Mickey Mouse T-shirt. No better moment," Melanie replies.

"Facts. Don't forget your Mickey Mouse ears", I laugh.

"I'll take the blue and white dress. It's supposed to be quite warm today," Julie calls from the
bathroom. And of course my Minnie Mouse ears."

"Yeah girl, you will look fabulous."

I decide on a pair of white hotpants and a goofy t-shirt, which I won yesterday at a ball-throwing stall.

Down at the entrance, the boys are already waiting for us. They didn't want to miss this trip either. Well, it suits them, the little kids.

"Good morning! Everybody fit?" I look with a huge smile at Alex and Reggie, who greet me back with the same anticipation. And Luke? His eyes are glued to the floor. I didn't expect anything else. He's been like this all along.

But a few seconds later Reggie has no attention for me either. His eyes are glued to Melanie. Such a cutie.

"Omg horse and carriage!", Julie shouts loud!

In front of the entrance is a huge horse-drawn carriage with two beautiful grey horses harnessed to it. The carriage and the horses are decorated with beautiful pink and white jewellery. Just like in a dream.

"Good morning, ladies. Where can I take you?", a charming older man greets us from the carriage seat.

"Please to Adventureland. Action today!"

"You're really blossoming here," Melanie winks at me.

"Don't worry, you're not different."

We have to enjoy this last day here to the full. The best start to the semester break. Who doesn't want to be surrounded by Mickey Mouse, Goofy or Cinderella?
