"How could you do this to me you guys?" I ask Sophie, Freddy, Simon, Cody and Louis who were in my room.
"Becky, it's not what you think..." Sophie said putting her hands forward. I was beyond heartbroken.
"You watched The Kissing Booth without me?"
"Uh..." Sophie searched for words to say but couldn't.
"It was Simon's fault". Freddy said pointing to Simon who raised his hands.
"Hey, don't point at me, you guys agreed we should start watching it since she was taking long to bring the popcorn and drinks".
"Cody, you should've stopped us", Freddy said again.
"Yeah, what about you? you should've stopped us too but you were too busy with little miss pretty here". Cody said and Sophie stuck out her tongue to him.
"Someone's jealous...", She sang-song.
"Looks like you too can't still keep your hands off each other". I say taking my seat, "and no popcorn for anyone". I glared at them and the all went begging.
"It's not fair", Louis said pouting.
"Life's not fair..." I said faking the most evil laugh I could muster. They all stared at me like I'm actually a witch and I burst out laughing. "Stay away from me and my popcorn."
My ears filled with pleas and pleas and pleas. Hahaha, revenge is sweet.
"Okay okay on one condition. We start all over again...the movie I mean"
"Fine". Louis said.
"Anything you want your highness, geez." Sophie said and they all came snatching their popcorn from my hands.
We all sat back to enjoy the movie while I went back to remember how my life had turned around ever since the magic mirror encounter and the competition. As expected, our school won in the finals. It was a shocking miracle. I don't even know how I did it, but I did it. I couldn't even hold my laughter when I saw the look on Britney's face as I was being lifted up when we went back to school. And best of all, a party was thrown later that day to honour me for bringing back the trophy to the school. Just as I had said I would. I couldn't even believe when my name was called.
"And the winner of this event goes to, Becky Peters of Greenville High School..."
I was too shocked to move. I almost went deaf with all the screaming. Everyone's eye almost came out of it's socket as it widened in shock. And this time, my dad was there cheering me on. Looking at everyone I love so dearly is what gives me the confidence. And not to forget where it all began, the magic mirror. Sophie's mouth is still itching to let everyone know about the magical experience we had. I just hope I don't wake up one day and realize that this is all a dream, because it's too good to be true.
My mom and dad go on dates almost every single day; holding hands at looking at each other with love and affection. It's all a happy family once again and I couldn't ask for anything more.
And oh, I have been invited to a concert to perform. I mean, I can't possibly believe it. I guess there's just so much in me that I can't even see. My family and friends gets free tickets to the concert. Well-known singers and celebrities will be there too, and none of this affects me because I'm braver than I think. And no matter who shows up, I just fix my mind on those that matters the most in my life. Those that have shown me the way to freedom. It's something I've come to know. So, no matter how difficult life gets, find what gives you joy and make yourself happy with that.
One more chapter guys.
Stay gold💜
