After watching the Princess Switch, we finally decided on watching a cartoon.

"Let's watch a Barbie series", I say scanning the disc pack.

"No. Let's watch boss baby". Sophie said moving her eye brows up and down, "who's in charge, the boss baby"

  "Nope, Barbie is much better"

  "Boss baby is funnier"

  "No Barbie"

  "No, boss baby"

  "Barbie"

  "Boss baby"

  "Barbie"

  "Boss baby"

  "Barbie"

"Boss. Baby." She said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes.

"God. Whatever," I say. "I'm just gonna dig into the burrito egg rolls".

"Yea...I won", she threw her fists into the air. I let out a small chuckle and shake my head.

"Wait", she said and stared at me intently, "don't you dare eat without me".

I throw my hands in the air and slightly shrugged. "Fine", I mumbled.

"Good". She returned to inserting the disc and then boss baby came on the screen. "Great. Just great". I said under my breath...

"Are you eating or not", Sophie said already taking a huge bite.

  "Oh no you don't"....

We were both sprawled on the floor like a stuffed mouse; and we were just done with the egg rolls. We are yet to eat the enchilldas.

I tapped my stomach three times.

"Hey", Sophie rolled to her side and looked at me who was staring up at the ceiling..."about your dad", she continued, "do you guys still know where he is?"

I shook my head.

Sophie sighed, "do you guys try finding out where he is?"

I nodded.

  "How did he disappear?"

"It just happened", I sighed. "At first he was always distant from us, especially my mom. She was heartbroken- thought maybe he doesn't love her anymore".
I half smiled. A bitter one.

  "Then?"

"I knew he still does. When my sister and I are about to go to bed and he comes to check up on me, he says he loves us so much, and mom too. He said he's just scared".

  "Scared of what?"

  "He never talked about it".

  "So what happened?"

"One morning, I woke up and went downstairs to the kitchen and mom was sobbing", I paused and swallowed hard. "I didn't know what to do so I went back up and called Chloe. We both went downstairs to where my mom was sitting. There was a letter in her hand; from my dad".

  "Whoa". Sophie said

"Mom cried for one week straight. I was angry at my dad for making my mom be that way, but now I'm not that upset...just sad. I remember, when I went up back to my room that day, I saw a guitar with a note somewhere in it".

  "Lemme guess, from your dad?"

"Yep. Telling me to keep singing"

"And from what I've noticed Beck, you haven't done that, have you?"

"I saw no reason to Sophie."

  "Why?"

I sat up straight. "Okay, that's enough talking about my dad for one night. Come on now tell me..."
Sophie sat up straight too. "Who's you're favorite Disney princess?"

She grunted and rolled her eyes, throwing herself back on the floor.

"Oh come on. You know I love fairy tales so much...please...", I gave her my cutest blue puppy eyes, "please..."

    Just one more second

  "Ugh, fine!"
Yeah. That did the trick. "So who is it?"

"Hmm", she said while thinking, "I think I'll go for snow white"

  "Snow White?"

  "Yep, why?"

  "I don't know...she's too...erm timid and fragile"

  "Yeah? how about you?"

"I'd go for Mulan. She's a lot braver"

"Well braver than a certain girl I know who cannot overcome her doubts of singing"

"Well...what do you know...", I chuckled uncomfortably while Sophie raised an eyebrow at me, "okay now, if you say you love snow white, then why don't you believe dreams come true?"

  "Dreams? what dreams?"

"... getting Freddy all to yourself? I played with fingers like what I'm saying doesn't matter...

"Becky!", Sophie pouted. "You know I want that"

"Well if you wish on an apple and take a bite and visit a hospital later on...then maybe it might actually happen".

"Right. I so get you Becky. He's just gonna appear right in front of me and say he wants to go out with me? thanks for the vote of confidence".

"Hey", I punched her arm gently, "it might actually work"

"Yeah, if you'd be so kind to give me a magical lamp,...then there'd be hope"

"You don't need a lamp or a genie Soph, all you need is to believe and it will come knocking right at you door. Anything is possible and you're unstoppable.

Sophie stared at me like I'm some alien from space. She scooted closer to me, grabbed my shoulders and shook me..., "HEY, MULAN! what did you do to my friend? Becky are you in there?..."

"Sophie. Stop. I'm not insane okay?"

She finally left me. "Well for a second you were being serious and speaking gibberish"

  "Whatever bestie", I sighed.
Sophie is never the serious type, always making a joke out of everything, everything except Freddy.

  "Hey, our enchilldas..."

  "Oh right!"
And the poor food rested in peace, in our stomach.

"You know", Sophie said in-between food in her mouth, "I really like Freddy"

"Follow your little red heart, Sophie. Don't let anything or anyone get in your way, not even Britney".

She smiled up at me and continued eating. "How about you,...you followed your heart yet to your true love?"

"Well...", I started. Sophie was eager to hear my confession, "I followed my heart alright, and it led me right to the fridge", I shrugged.

In a matter of seconds, I felt a pillow right in my face. Bummer. Good thing she has a soft pillow. "I'm gonna kill you," Sophie said, "and bury you with the fridge...mu ah ah ah ah ah ah", she faked an evil laugh.

...and let the pillow fight begin...
