Chapter Nineteen

I and Sophie chatted away for a while about virtually everything our minds could think of. We laughed so loud as well and drew a bit of attention to ourselves.

  "You know, Lisa kinda have the same of Miss Paige's smile", Sophie said.

  "You think?"

  "Yeah" she said. "do you think we can stay for the show?"

  "I was thinking of that"

  "Is that a yes?"

  "I didn't say it's a yes." I place my palms on my cheeks and rested my hands on my laps. "but maybe we could stay for a while...if we don't find a mirror by that time"

  "Yes. It's a yes"

  "Of course it's a..." I stopped, "is that Farren?"

  "Whoa...why is she coming over there? are we in some kind of trouble? Becky what did you do again?"

  "Wha...me? What have I ever...ugh!" We both stood up when Farren was near us. " What's the matter Farren". I ask in confusion. She looked a bit hazy and about to pass out.

  "There's a big problem", she replied out of breath. Oh! I thought she was a professional in keeping calm.

  "What problem?" Sophie asked

  " She's gone"

  "Who's gone". I ask

  "Lisa...Lisa Andrews"

  "Lisa?"

  "Yeah. Oh my God...what am I going to do. If she's not performing everything's going to go downhill. I mean, have you seen the hall? It's packed and spaces have been created for more people outside. Do you know how much money we'll lose if she doesn't show up? The name of this music entertainment company will be ruined and tarnished"

  "Whoa whoa whoa! Hold up a bit Farren", Sophie cut her short and only then did she stop to take a breath. "Where has Lisa gone to and why? we just met her some minutes ago"

  "You did? Did she tell you anything?" Farren asked frantically

  "No why?"

  "Oh, my heart is gonna explode. Lisa's just gone. Like far away from here. She just got a call from her home that her foster mom just fell from the stairs and is hurt badly and in the hospital"

  "What" I whisper-asked.

  "Yeah, she just rushed there now. Everyone know how Lisa is keen and always concerned about her family. She never jokes with them and that's really her weak spot. I mean, if you want to get her just kidnap her parents or something" Farren chuckled nervously.

Sophie gasped, "who's gonna perform now in the show. It can't be cancelled, it's gone far enough already"

  "You're right. We can't call it off. Never. We tried to stop her, reason with her, convince her that her mom will still be fine. But Lisa is Lisa, you can't change that about her. She might even lose focus and mess up badly in the show. But wait, wait..."

  "What is it?" I ask

  "that's not all...that's not all", she said trying to recall something, "right. She said something like, Becky can do it. Becky can do it. I didn't get her clearly so I don't understand what she meant by that"

  "Yes!" Sophie said quickly. "She said that because Becky can perfectly sing the song Lisa's to perform in the show"

"What! No! It could've meant anything. She wasn't thinking straight afterall. Please don't think that's what she meant." I say
