"...that's all on Pride and Prejudice. See you class next week." The literature teacher summarized then catwalked out of the class.
The whole class was silent after she left, and even throughout the teaching. All because we didn't understand a single word she said on the book Pride and Prejudice. Are we supposed to even be learning that now? isn't it a bit advanced for us? I guess we have no choice than to learn it."Well that was intense..." Sophie said, loud enough for the whole class to hear.
There were a few chuckles and murmurings now.
"Whoa! I'm starving". I said
"You're always starving Beck", Sophie said while packing her books into her bag.
"Blame it on the class. Good thing it's lunch time now"
She rolled her eyes. We followed the rest of the class out into the lunch hall and took our spot.
"So are you excited about today?" Sophie asked
"You mean the magic mirror issue? then no. I'm rather nervous"
"I don't see why you should be nervous about it. I think it will be fun. We don't even know what we're doing with it or how it's gonna work."
"I know but...this is all about me in the first place. Miss Paige brought out the idea of this magic mirror adventure because of me, to help me. So practically whatever is happening, or happens is my fault."
"There you go again, blaming yourself for everything. It's gonna work and...um...Pride and Prejudice really erm,...got to all of us right? we shouldn't be arguing about that now."
I gave her a dumbfounded look. Why did she switch topic? what does Pride and Prejudice have to do with the magic mirror we're talking about here?
She signaled me with her eyes towards myself...or is it?I turned around and saw, ugh...Britney. And her useless two friends, behind me.
"What do you want?" I asked with contempt
"Oh...look who got her voice back from Ursula...poor Ariel"
If it wasn't for the fact that Britney was being a total bitch here, I would've congratulated her for her good use of fairy tales.
"Did you come all the way here to taunt Becky?" Sophie asked frowning.
"No, absolutely no", she gave this stupid chuckle that makes me want to throw up. "On the contrary, I'm here to do you guys a favour, by telling you what you need to know about your poor selves."
"Keep the lecture to your self"
"I will say it anyways. First Becky, know that you'll always be a loser no matter how hard you try to win. You have no place in this school's competition. Even if you were planning on joining, you would still be nothing. You're just gonna bring shame to us instead. We don't want that. You're gonna be an outcast too when you fail; more like a leper who needs to be deserted."
"Hold up Britbrat", Sophie spat with disgust, "you'd better watch your tongue or I'd have to cut it out for you. Are you insane? talking to her that way... gosh! you really need a doctor..."
"Actually I don't. Sweeties, you need to know the real truth of the matter"
Her friends giggled
Morons.
"... Right girls?" They nodded. "and you, little miss pretty..." She directed her attention to Sophie who glared at her. "Aww, no need to be so feisty. I'm helping you out here so you won't make a fool out of yourself. Now, I don't want to see you around Freddy. You don't belong to him, I do"
