After our make out session, we held onto each other and fell asleep, each one of us enjoying each other's company.

And a few hours or so later, after that, my mate woke up and pressed a kiss to my temple, and I stirred awake from my slumber. He tried to get out of bed, but I held onto him, not wanting him to get up just yet.

"No," I grunted. "You're staying." I didn't want to get up just yet, and I didn't want my mate to leave me.

My mate chuckled and pressed another kiss to my temple again. "We need to get up, though, Fox," he said, his voice deep with sleep. "I need a shower anyway, and you need to eat something other than the ice cream you stole from Colt."

I grumbled something under my breath but let him go. I knew what he said was true, and it didn't help that my stomach decided to growl in protest at not being fed.

"Troy had made dinner for us tonight," he said, and there was a small laugh in his voice when he heard my stomach growl. "He has already said that it is ready. You can go and get something to eat so that your stomach will stop growling out its protest. I'll take a shower and meet you in the dining room."

I grew tense and opened one eye to look at my mate. I made sure that my face was a mask so he couldn't see that I was nervous because I didn't know what he wanted me to do. "Am I eating with the pack?" I asked, and Lorcian nodded in confirmation.

Lorcian frowned and studied me, and I could tell that he was worried about me. "Are you going to be fine with it?" he asked, and concern filled his voice. "You can wait until I am done with my shower, and then we can go down together if you'd like."

I took a deep breath and released it before I nodded, relieved that he was willing to let me wait for him to get showered so that we could go down together. "Ya, ya, that's fine," I said. I cleared my throat and sat up, letting the blankets fall to my waist. "That gives me enough time to get dressed and get prepared to see them."

"Hey," Lorcian said and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. Understanding filled his eyes while he stared at me, and I could tell that he knew I was nervous about eating with them and taking my position as Luna. "The pack accepts you as their Luna already, Fox. There is no need to be so tense with them or be here with us."

I didn't reply and shrugged while I flicked my eyes to the ground. I was a little surprised they had accepted me as their Luna so quickly, and a part of me wondered when that happened because I had not been introduced as their Luna yet.

Also, I mean, even though Lorcian had never rejected me, he had made it clear that I didn't belong with the pack.

But that was before he marked me as his...

Lorcian pressed a gentle kiss to my temple before he pulled away from me. He looked worried, and I knew that he was worried about me and what I was trying to hide from him. "I'll be done quickly," he promised. "Wait in here, and we'll go into the dining room together. Ok?"

I took a deep breath and released it before I nodded. "Ok," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. I cleared my throat and gestured to the bathroom. "Go take your shower and get clean. I'll be fine out here."

Lorcian nodded and cleared his throat. "And you, get dressed," he said and stood. "I'll be done soon." And with that, he twisted on his heels and walked into the bathroom.

I laid back down and closed my eyes, biting back a groan. I rubbed my face and cleared my throat while I tried to compose myself.

Goddess, please let him be telling the truth, I prayed and took a deep breath before I released it, trying to calm my nerves. Please let the pack accept me as their Luna. Please.

Lorcian kept his promise and was done by the time that I had gotten ready. He moved a towel through his hair and smiled when he saw me looking at him. "Ready?" he asked and raised an eyebrow, and I nodded because I was ready to go. He cocked his head and studied me, and I made sure that he wasn't able to read my thoughts and know how much of a nervous wreck I was. "What about mentally?"

I grimaced and shrugged, not even upset that he figured out how I was feeling. "I will be fine," I replied, and Lorcian frowned but didn't say a word. I cleared my throat and stood straighter, letting the warrior part of me reside and to hide the nervousness that I felt. "Come on, let's go see what Trey had cooked for us."

Lorcian nodded and stayed silent. He knew that he wouldn't get another word out of me about how I felt even when he knew that I wasn't fine.

He tossed his towel into the hamper and then walked to the bedroom door. He paused and looked at me with a raised eyebrow, his eyes holding his concern while his face remained neutral and composed. "Are you ready?" he asked, his voice soft and gentle.

I sighed and shook my head, no. I grimaced and cleared my throat while I shifted on my feet, waiting for him to open the door. "But I know that I have to go eat with the pack, so let's go."

Lorcian nodded and cleared his throat. He held his hand out for me and raised an eyebrow in question. A small smile appeared on his face, but that didn't stop the worry in his eyes. "We'll go through this together, ok?" he asked and cocked his head while he studied me. "You aren't going to go through this alone, Fox," he said softly. "You have me and the pack by your side. You'll prove to yourself that you can be the best Luna and queen there ever was."

I took a deep breath and released it. I walked over to him, my heart pounding hard in my throat, and took his hand. I bit back a small smile when he kissed the top of it, his lips gentle and soft. "Are you sure you are ready for this?" I asked. My voice was void of any emotion because I didn't want him to know how much I was nervous about this or about becoming queen.

Lorcian smiled and nodded. He cleared his throat and gave my hand a reassuring squeeze while he opened the door of the bedroom. "With you by my side, my Love, I am ready for anything that the world throws our way."
