I didn't realize how tired I was until Lorican pulled himself away from me, and I opened my eyes, not liking the fact that he had. With half closed eyes, I watched him take off my boots and set them to the side.
My mate turned to look at me and smiled. "Thought you would be more comfortable with them off," he said, earning a grumble. He chuckled and moved over to me, placing a gentle kiss on my lips. "I also thought you'd be more comfortable in different clothing, so I asked Ari to help come dress you in something else," he whispered.
I shook my head and sat up, rubbing my eyes. "No," I mumbled. "I will take care of that."
Lorcian sighed and nodded, knowing full well that he wouldn't get me to change my mind. "Ok," he said, shifting away from me. "Get up then so that you can get changed and then have a better nap."
I groaned but got out of bed. "Fine," I grumbled, and Lorcian watched me amused while I stood and walked to the place he had put all the clothes that I had gotten before I left the pack.
"You should probably go take a shower, too," Lorcian teased, and I turned around and looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Are you saying that I stink?" I asked, raising the eyebrow further.
He shrugged. "When was the last time that you had an actual shower and not from a stream?" he asked, not answering my question.
I opened my mouth to tell him when but closed it. I had no idea when the last time I yar an actual shower because I hadn't taken one at the main base before I came here.
So instead, I shrugged before I turned around and grabbed a pair of clean underwear, some night shorts, and then one of Lorcian's t-shirts, having a feeling that he would allow me to wear it.
"Wait, really?" Lorcian asked, shocked. "Do you not know when you had taken an actual shower? I thought that there were showers at the main base."
"There are," I replied. "However, I didn't stay at the main base for long." I walked out of the closet with my haul.
Lorcian cocked his head and furrowed his brows before he nodded. "I thought you would've stayed longer," he admitted, and I shook my head.
"I've been away from you for too long, and Anastasia decided to go to the palace before she went to her pack."
Lorcian nodded. "And she knows that she is free to come here to live, right?" he asked. "If she doesn't want to stay with him?"
"She does," I confirmed. "However, I think she and Blue are going to travel the world if things don't work out between them." I pursed my lips and furrowed my brows, worried about my cousin. "They'll be taking Alexandria with them."
"Is she cute?" Lorcian asked, and I nodded. He cocked his head and studied me with his intelligent blue eyes. "And has Isen threatened him like he had threatened me?"
"My cousin is cute, yes," I confirmed. I walked to the bathroom and sighed before I shrugged. "And I don't know what Isen had threatened to do with Carter. I don't know if he had ever gotten the chance because, unlike you, he hasn't really met him."
Lorcian pouted, and I raised an eyebrow in question. "He should have at least threatened him. What? Is he afraid of Anastasia?"
"Yes," I replied. "He is deathly afraid of her."
"What?" Lorcian asked, shocked, and I nodded in confirmation. "Why?"
I smirked. "She knows how to kill him." And that, I walked into the bathroom to take a long shower, closing and locking the door behind me.

Lorcian was right; I needed a shower, and I had felt absolutely better after it, even though I knew that I needed sleep as well.
I wasn't surprised when I stepped out of the bedroom with my red hair in a braid to see that it was empty because Lorican had linked me to tell me that he had to step out but promised he'd be back when I wake.
Sighing, I walked over to the king-size bed and sat down on the edge of the bed before I looked around our room.
Our room. Those words echoed through my head, and I couldn't help but let a small smile appear on my face: our room, our house, our pack.
I had a mate that loved and cared about me, something that I thought wouldn't happen, especially because of what had happened before I figured out that he was under a spell. I had a mate that accepted me for who I was, and I knew that he didn't care that I would be the queen of the whole kingdom and didn't want me for my power.
He wanted me for me.
He wanted my scars, my thoughts, and my heart. He wanted to be in my life and respect my decisions.
My wolf purred when I thought of my mate, and my fox sighed happily. Both of them agreed that he and his wolf would be a great fit for us and the kingdom that we would run when my father stepped down.
We would be a team and a force to be reckoned with. We would help the kingdom grow and gain respect from other species that reside amongst us, following my father's view on peace and working together to live peacefully with each other.
However, the first thing that I had to do was become the Luna that this pack needed. I needed to prove to them and myself that I could lead a huge community and not just the seven people who were part of my group.
That was the first thing that I needed to do, and I had no idea how to do it, even though I was hesitant about being the Luna. I didn't want to mess up and make Lorcian angry with me.
For now, however, I needed a nap, so I stood and walked over to what I presumed was my side and laid down on top of the blankets. And in an instant, I fell asleep feeling a feeling that I did whenever I was in his presence after the spell was taken off of him.
And that feeling was:
Safe.
