Saved by Two Chapter Two:

"Hello sir can i help you with anything?"

Without looking up at the sales woman i motion to the blue dress in my hands. "What size does this come in?"

"Extra small to extra large." I tip my hat to her to say thanks but i don't hear her walk away so i look up. "Are you shopping for your daughter?"

I smile at her and say "No ma'am."

"Niece?" she asks with a cock of her head.

"No ma'am my other half." I say and mentally wince because Avlon hasn't been talking to me in two days. Its like i had to star all over again bringing her her food. I heard her door open a few times for her to use the bathroom. Usually she holds it and then when i retire to bed she leaves to use the restroom. Some nights i would wake up and hear the shower running.

"Oh well older women usually like......"

I give her a questioning look and cut her off. "How old do ya think i am?" i ask because I'm not that old at all.

"Thirty?"

I chuckle and shake my head. "No ma'am God put me in my mothers womb 27 years ago."

Her eye widen and she quickly walks away. Selecting the sundress in extra small i move on to other ones. I get her a few pairs of pants in the smallest they come so i hope they fit her.

Picking up my cell phone i call May and ask the dreaded question. "Can you come to the mall?"

"What for?" she asks suspiciously.

"Um...... I'm shopping for Avlon."

"Undergarments?" she asks with a giggle and i grunt. "Be there in a few."

While i wait i look at some shirts and pick a few tee-shirts and some skinnie straps for hot days. "Uncle Dallas." A voice squeals and i turn with a big smile. Savannah my four year old niece runs up to me and jumps in my arms.

"Vannah how are you?"

"Good. Why do you have girl clothes?" she asks eyeing them weirdly.

"Uncle Dallas has a girl at his house." May says walking over to us.

Savannah squeals. "Can i meet her?"

"Not yet." i say shooting May a look that says not now. She has been messing with me about liking Avlon ever since i gushed that she talked to me. "But i need you to finder her some stuff she would like." i say when i see her staring to pout.

She jumps down and starts running around the store pulling things off of the rack. "Is she talking with you yet?"

Shaking my head i follow her around the store. "I reckon shes afraid."

"Maybe shes afraid you'll use her words against her."

"I surly hope not."

"Can i come in?" i question with a soft knock.

I don't hear anything for a second and then i hear a soft sound so i open the door and stand there. My Angel's sitting on her bed with her legs crossed under her. She looks over at me as i stand there. Her eyes travel down to the bag and she looks up with a questioning look.

"I went shopping for you." I look down embarrassed and scratch the back of my neck uncomfortably. "Um..... I swear i didnt look at them. May came and she shopped for your under......." I say trailing off and then say "Yah."

She does a small sound that sounds like a giggle and i look up. She meets my eye for a second and then looks away. I smile at her because that is the first time she ever met my eye since she has been here. "Thank you." she says softly.

"No need." i say with a shake of my head. Hesitating for a second i look out of her open certain and ask "Do you want to come down and have pizza with me?"

"Yes." i look up surprised and she just nods she motions for me to go out of the door so i reckon I'm standing to close. I set her bags down at the door and leave to order the pizza with a smile.

When the door bell rings is when she finally comes down the stairs. Standing at the door i watch as she stops in her tracks on the stairs. She looks to the door in horror and shock. "Are you okay?" i ask slowly.

Her green eyes snap to me widened with fear. "He's coming back." she states and turns to run back up the stairs.

"No, No." i say in a rush going closer to the stairs. "It's the pizza it gets delivered to the house."

It takes her a minute to understand and when the bell rings again she slowly nods looking at the door. "Can i answer it?" i ask not knowing if she'll freak out. Without her eyes leaving the door she nods. Making my way i open the door and sigh in relief when i see a teen girl standing there with the pizza.

I hand her the money and say thanks before closing the door. Avlon is still afraid of women just not as much as she is men so i know she wouldn't want me standing there with the door open.

Making my way to the living room i say to Avlon "Lets eat and watch a movie."

"A movie?" she asks curiously with her head cocked in confusion.

Setting the pizza on the coffee table i look to her in disbelief. "You've never seen one?" she just shakes her head. "Do you know what a television is?" again she looks confused and i want to ask a lot of questions but keep quiet. "This is a television." i say pointing at it. "It's just people in it and it moves and they talk. It usually has a dramatic or happy ending." i explain and she nods but i can tell shes still confused.

I take a seat in my chair and she sits on the farthest part of the couch. "You can eat as much as you want." i say grabbing myself a piece. She nods and gets a piece as i go through netflix and look for us a movie. She stairs at the tv in amazement and i chuckle.

I hear a soft moan and look at her in shock. She's chewing with her eyes closed and a smile on her face. "Have you never had pizza?"

"No just bread." she says in a small voice. I don't say anything but I'm in shock. I don't want her to be afraid to talk to me again so i just shut up and find a movie.

We sit and watch movies all night until she falls asleep on the couch. I cover her up with a blanket and go upstairs leaving her on the couch so i don't frighten her.
