Chapter 15

Saved by Two Chapter Fifteen:

One week later:

Avlon didnt go outside for a week. Walter would call and see how she was doing and when i would go out to help train the horses he would hound me with questions.

Avlon wouldnt tell me why she wouldnt go outside but i knew the reason why. She was avoiding Walter but the reason why i dont know. I ask her and she just changes the subject. She talks about Sunny but she still wont go out to see him. Sunny misses her though you can see the change in him. Usually he's fighting you and being independent. Now he just sits in his stall or the pin looking into the stall waiting for her to come play.

She's even a little distant to me but im just happy she still lets me touch her and she still comes out of her room. She tenses up a bit when i touch her but it fades. Not as quickly as it was but it still fades away.

Since Zoe got angry she has been sleeping on my floor. Every morning i get up there she is bawled up on my floor sleeping peacefully.

So this morning as were eating coco puffs and watching Supernatural i ask her "Angle why have you been sleeping in my room?"

She looks over at me and chews her cereal before answering. "Momma called them night mares but i dont like them. When i sleep in your room they dont happen." she explains and i smile at her because she must really feel safe with me if her nightmares dont happen when shes in my room.

"What are they about?"

She looks back at the television and says "The man." she doesnt say anything else and i dont pressure her to because i dot think shes ready to tell me what he did to her yet.

"Walter really misses you." her head snaps over to me and she just stares at me forgetting the television and her cereal. "Sunny does to. Their both being big babies." i joke trying to get a smile out of her and she only stares at me.

I try reading her expression but its not one that i've seen before. "Do you want to go see them?"

Whispering she asks "Is he angry at me?"

I shake my head quickly and my eyes widen. "No. No Angle he's not angry. He's just sad because he misses you. He asks me about you everyday. Hounds me is more like it but he just misses his baby girl."

She looks to the front door and then back to me. "I thought he wouldnt want to see me." i cock my head confused. "Zoe is his wife so of course if she was angry he would be angry at me to."

"No Angle. Walter is upsett with Zoe because she frightened you. Walter loves you like a daughter. He says you are his daughter so why would he be angry at you?"

She stands placing her bowl on the coffee table and says "Can we go see him?"

Nodding i stand with her "Yah Angle whenever your ready."

Avlon doesnt waist a second and shes out the door. She runs to the stalls and to the training pin. When she spots Walter she yells "Dad."

Walter loos up surprised at the sound of her voice and i imagine because she called him dad. Avlon barrels into him giving him a tight hug. I chuckle as Walter just stands there in shock. He looks at me and slowly comes back to himself. With a huge smile he wraps his arms around her and twirls her around making her laugh.

"Where have you been baby girl?" he asks letting her go.

Avlon looks down ashamed. "I thought you would be mad at me."

Walter scoffs and looks offended she would think that. "why would i be mad at you sweetheart?"

"Zoe was mad at me." she states quietly.
