Chapter 12

Saved by Two Chapter Twelve:

"Is she nice?" Avlon asks quietly as she watches Zoe get out of Walter's truck.

It's been a week since the incident when i ddint know where she was. Now every time she goes somewhere she makes sure to tell me personally. I was shocked the first time she knocked on my door. She stood infront of me with her head down and hands behind her back. When i aksed if she was okay she said she just wanted to tell me she wanted to go see Sunny.

I thanked her for telling me first and told her she didnt have to ask all she had to do was let me know. She said okay and left to go to the stables. I went and watched her after thirty minutes of giving her alone time with Walter and Sunny.

She has gotten really close to Walter. Yesterday Walter was beaming because she gave him a hug hello. She doesnt call him Mr. Walter anymore its just Walter. He's been talking to her about meeting Zoe all week and she finally agreed on it last night. He said Zoe was really excited to see the girl he would always come home and talk about. He blushed a little when he was telling me but i just patted his back and chuckled because Avlon has the same effect on all of us.

Looking down at her i chuckle and say "She's really nice Angle don't worry so much."Avlon looks up at me with a scowl and i relax my face becoming serious. "Avlon shes really nice."

"Fine." she says and looks back at the couple knowing im serious. She accepts when i call her Avlon now because i told her it would be in serious situations when i would use it. She doesnt like it still but she desnt freak out as much as she did before.

When Walter and Zoe start up the porch steps she comes closer to me and brushes her hand against mine. She grabs my pinkie finger when they stop infront of us. "Dallas." Walter says with a nod and Zoe gives me a small polite smile and wave. "Avlon sweetie this is my wife Zoe." Walter greets with a smile.

Avlon gives the woman a tight smile still afraid of what she will say. "Hi Avlon i'm Zoe. My Walter has said so much about you. I had to meet the young lady he's been calling his baby girl." Walter scratches his neck embarrassed and i laugh at him.

Avlon giggles a cute little sound and lets up on my finger a bit knowing the woman infront of her isn't going to harm her. At least not with Walter and i around. "Hello." Avlon says in her naturally small voice. "Walter talks about you a LOT." She adds and this has Zoe giggling.

"Would you like to make these men something to eat and we could get to know each other?" Zoe suggests and Avlon looks up at me i give her a nod and then shoot Zoe a look. She nods in understanding before following Avlon into the house.

"I think she likes her." i state turning to look at a beaming Walter.

"She talked to her so thats a plus." Walter nods in agreement. "Has she talked about God anymore?" he asks as we go into the house and turn the game on.

"No. I asked her if she wanted to go to church and she said she would but not yet. I sid that was okay and suggested that she meet all of you before doing that."

"That's good. She should get use to the guys before she goes anywhere with a big crowd. Maybe if you jsut sit in the back pew and if she gets anxious or upsett leave." he suggests and i nod my head. That would be a good idea if she agrees with it. I dont want her to do anything that shes not okay or comfortable with so i'll go at her pace.

"Maybe you should bring it up this time." i suggest and he nods before turning back to the television.

"Walter seems more happy when he comes home now. I started wondering what had him so happy because he had been so depressed for years and then one day he just came home ranting about you." The woman named Zoe says with a big smile.
