CHAPTER 24

Faith and the twins were greeted by ushers opening a wide double door leading to the wedding ceremony. The ceremony didn’t start for another 15 minutes, but everyone didn’t seem to mind staring at the beautiful Blue and White set up. Faux Diamonds were placed around the plant decorations and the ivory pews slanted inward towards the aisle. If Faith didn’t know any better, she would mistake the place for a huge congregated church.

The set up and decorations were very nice, but Faith’s mindset wasn’t all too happy. She knew for the next few hours she would have a fake smile painted upon her face, her heart slowly dying.

Love was a hard thing to deal with and she had to face it. There would be no way Alex would leave a perfect family with Melissa to come to Faith and her struggles with the past. And then there are the twins…Natasha is very forgiving and understanding but Nathanial on the other hand was questionable if he would ever like Alex at all. Faith busied herself with her phone, hoping to ignore the sincere happiness among the guests.

“Where’s my tie? Okay, thanks.” Alex slowly tied his blue tie around his neck and stared at himself in the mirror. As of this morning, he knew what his decision would be.

       10 minutes.

A perfect family wasn’t fully reachable, but worth a try. He knew she didn’t want any more kids, which was about right considering their age.

After today, things would be close to normal with Alex again. No more stress about the wedding, to be exact.

       5 minutes.

Alex looked at the double doors with a huge weight on his shoulders that would be released in the next few minutes. He just wanted to get this over with.

       He loved this woman.

       She claimed she loved him.

Maybe it was true, but maybe it’s a lie now.

Things change.

       People change.

Or maybe it’s just things in this case. She probably still loved him. He knew he would always love her. He was just in denial about it.

Alex stepped into the ceremonial room where the music softly playing per entertainment of the guest.

       2 minutes.

He didn’t bother looking at the guest when he arrived at the altar. He knew she was in the crowd somewhere. Staring at him.

       Waiting.

According to plan, her mom once said. Melissa smoothed out her dress with a huge smile with huge intent. She was informed Faith and the kids were already there.

       Show time.

Melissa was going to be the star of today. Why not? It was her day after all. Alex was just the arm candy at the moment. She was going to shine regardless of what anyone said about it. Melissa made damn sure the one’s beneath her in the wedding would know who’s the boss of today.

“Can we hurry up people? My wedding is about to start! I don’t care how you do it at your wedding or weddings of others, but mine WILL start on time!”

Everyone walked out the door and towards the double doors which was currently closed. Order was ensued as Melissa made sure everyone was standing in the exact spot assigned.

“And Connie, don’t forget to start off with your left foot when entering,” Melissa loudly whispered as they all heard the entrance music beginning to play.

       Her time had finally arrived.
