CHAPTER 12
Faith laid on her bed staring at the time pass by on the digital clock. These past two months was close to hell. She prayed to God that one day Alex would forgive her, but this isn’t what she meant. She supposed somewhere deep in her imagination she was hoping that there would be a chance Alex and her would be together.
After finding out his pregnant fiancé, aka Nathanial and Natasha’s principal, was in the picture, that dream flushed down the toilet. On top of things, the ‘other side of life’ knows she’s not dead and still judging her for her previous mistake. Aside from the monetary benefits from the music, her life was official still intertwined with her past life. Now all she wanted to do was pray that things would soon get better.
“Mama!” Natasha screamed from across the hall. Faith quickly jumped up and ran towards the laundry room. She entered to see Nathanial lying against the dryer held up by Natasha. His eyes were rolled to the back of his head followed by a foamed up mouth of drool.
“Seizure,” Faith softly said before dialing 911 for assistance. The operator stayed on, attempting to keep Faith calm and telling Natasha instructions. In about 5 minutes, the medics arrived loading up Nathanial’s unconscious body. In only a pair of shorts and jacket, Faith trailed behind the ambulance with Natasha silently praying in the passenger seat.
She knew epilepsy didn’t run on her side of the family…but she did recall that both Adrian and Alex had a history of it, Alex experiencing it more than Adrian. Faith parked in the hospital parking lot and sighed. The thoughts of informing Alex crossed her mind. She didn’t require him to come, but just stay updated on his current children.
She paced around outside hoping he would answer despite it being 30 minutes until midnight. “C’mon…pick up…”

Alex ran from his home office to pick up the phone in the bedroom. “Hello?”
Melissa looked up at Alex, seeming to have awoken from her sleep. “Who is it?” she mouthed.
“He what? Dammit…Okay, okay. Calm down. I’ll be there in 15 minutes.”
Melissa stared at Alex rushing to button up his shirt and slip on some shoes. “Who was it?”
“Faith.”
“Oh…” Melissa said dully. “Well is something wrong?”
“Nathanial had a seizure,” Alex said stuffing his phone into his pocket.
“Should I get ready?” Melissa questioned attempting to get up.
Alex stopped her. “You stay and rest. I’ll call soon as I get an update. Okay?” He kissed her on the lips and rushed out the house door. Melissa growled as she laid in bed and attempted to go to sleep. She hoped tomorrow’s results would clear Faith’s bullshit up quickly.

Alex arrived inside the hospital and quickly spotted Faith and Natasha feeling jittery. “What’s the news on him?”
“He’ll be find but has to stay overnight for test.”
“Okay,” Alex said breathlessly. He looked at Natasha’s leg jumping up and down in fear. “You alright, Babygirl?”
She looked up at Alex in tears. “Yes sir.”
Faith wiped her left tears as Alex sat next to here and held her for the first time in his life. “It’s going to be okay, sweetie.”
Faith stared at Alex and Natasha holding each other. She dreamed one day that Alex could have a relationship-a strong one- with both Natasha and Nathanial.
A doctor came through ER doors with a patient, talking to him. It was the same doctor that took Nathanial in and the patient looked familiar to Faith but couldn’t put a finger on it.
The doctor approached Faith and Alex with a smile. He tells them an exact time when Nathanial will be discharged before the patient walks behind the doctor with a surprised look.
“Faith Thomas,” he loudly said. “Original Egyptian’s Paradise member.”
She froze in her chair not knowing what to do. She noticed a few people turning around in slight disbelief.
“Hey, what’s your problem-”
“And let me guess-Alex Wolfe…The one that was not meant to be…” he glanced at Natasha. “Oh and look at the joy! There’s a child in the picture? Ha! Is it yours Alex? Or did Faith lie about that too?”
“Mama,” Natasha said tightly holding Faith’s hand.
“Shut up,” Alex threatened.
“Connor, calm down,” the doctor said attempting to move him away.
Connor laughed and stared hard at Alex. “Oh if only I was still in the journalism biz. I would slaughter your name so deep down I’d-”
The room made a huge gasp in unison. Alex was on top of the man making swift motions upon his face. Faith finally found the strength to pull Alex’s 260 framed body off of Connor.
Alex stared at Faith whose face bore the same one from the day he last saw her 16 years ago. Then he was Natasha staring in disbelief.
Security came and was instructed to take Connor back to the asylum. As he was getting cuffed, he said one last thing that brought the past back hard.
“And Ms. Tomas, I took the picture of you and Adrian locking lips, if you didn’t already know.”
The gardener. Faith remembered. He looked quiet shady but she didn’t complain. Both Natasha and Alex stared at Faith on the verge of tears. Alex walked closer to Faith not knowing what to say. He softly touched he shoulder and Faith flinched away. “Don’t touch me. Just…give me a minute.”
Alex stared at Faith walk in the bathroom, roughly locking the door behind her. A part of him wanted to walk in and comfort her like a friend. Another part wanted to comfort her like a lover.
“Melissa,” Alex thought to himself. “What me and Faith had in the past is gone. I am engaged…with a child on the way.” Although Alex told himself that, he had a small feeling that he was still in love with Faith.
