CHAPTER 11

“Nathanial still hates me, but Natasha has warmed up to me a little,” Alex bragged handing Melissa cutting board.

“You barely know them,” Melissa complained.

       “I’m trying.”

“You don’t understand, Alex. You can’t just look past the fact that they could have been made by Adrian.”

“Why are you bringing Adrian into this? I know for a fact the kids are mind. And plus, Adrian already has his hands full with Darius and Dashawn.”

“It’s a wonder they’re fraternal. Yall family consists of identical twins…” Melissa thought out loud. ‘But aside from that, do you know 100%? Do you have a DNA test for proof?”

“Faith has a copy if you would like to see,” Alex said not looking up from the dishes.

Melissa sighed. “We’re getting married in a matter of months and all this talk about kids is making ours kick-hard,” Melissa said leaning against the counter.

“Well, don’t pop out just yet,” Alex smiled as he talked to Melissa’s stomach. “Still have a little time.”

“I-I don’t know. I don’t think this is right, Adrian.”

“C’mon…It’s just once. C’mon,” Adrian drunkenly said. The two had been drinking and was both drunk flirting with each other. The girl laid her head back and stared at the ceiling. Adrian had done stuff like this before and knew for a fact he wasn’t getting caught this time. Not in New Orleans at least.

The girl looked at Adrian staring back her with a weak smile. He kissed around her neck and inched closer to her body. She couldn’t resist him anymore. There was too much alcohol in her system to care or realize it.

Nathanial walked into Melissa’s office with a roll of his eyes. “What I do now?”

Melissa looked at him long and hard. “Nothing. Just wanted to talk.”

He stared back at her with a skeptical look. “About…?”

       “Alex.”

Nathanial scoffed. “Look you might be my future stepmom, but that don’t mean nothing.”

Melissa ignored his comment and smiled. “Has your mom even told you Alex was your father before the party a month ago?”

       “No. Why?”

“Well, its school policy to make sure that’s true…That he’s your dad.”

       “Okay…?”

“Head to the nurse for a shot and return to class. Also, don’t tell your mother. I don’t want her to worry,” Melissa smiled. As Nathanial left, her smile dropped to a frown. She refused to believe Faith’s bastard children was Alex’s.
