To say that I was shocked will be an understatement. I opened my mouth and closed it. My blood was boiling. I don't know what kept me from talking either the shock or the anger, maybe both.
After I built up a lot of courage and had counted 1 to 50 to calm myself. I talked
"Who?"
"Huh?" she was already in tears
Her sobs were so silent, I could barely hear them.
" Who dare hurt you" I asked again
"It's... it's...whaygsnjffkk" I heard nothing at the last part
"What did you say? I couldn't hear you the first time"
She took a deep breath and replied but the hot tears rolling down her cheeks didn't stop.
I scooted close to her and hugged her.
"Who is the motherf**cking bastard that dares mess with you" I asked again. I'm sure she could feel the rumble on my chest.
"It's... it's... it's...hibshhchcbh"
"What are you saying?"
"I said it's Adekoyejo Tosin" she raised her voice a little
I gulped
"What?
Isn't that the president's son"
"Yes"
"How...why...when... where..." I couldn't think straight
"How do you expect me to answer those questions" she replied
I was quiet for a while
"You said you were almost raped does that mean he didn't do anything?" I hopefully asked
"No...A girl was there to save me. She hit his head with a large stone and he landed in coma. The police weren't involved and from what I heard the girl has been suspended till further notice" she said staring intensely into space
"But that is as good as expulsion isn't it?"
"Yes Folarin. Don't you think I know that! I'm feeling so guilty because I caused her this trouble. She's in her final year and is writing her project. This suspension could dent her results." Shade said
"Is that why you are home?"
"Yes..The president and his family are trying to hide it and the school is on their side"
"We'll have to tell this to Mum and Dad. They'll know what to do" I said
They are adults and will be able to solve this
That scum must go to jail
"Nevermind about that. They already know"
"Oh I should have known since they brought you home. That's good I'm sure they are working on it"
Shade didn't say anything and stood up to leave
"I still have things to do. I'll take my leave" she replied gloomy
