Tamilore's POV
I drank my juice and stared around as we waited for mum to arrive.
"I thought you said mum would be here" Temilade asked, irritated as usual.
"No. I said let's go and meet Mum. I never mentioned that she would already be waiting" Bella replied.
Temilade rolled her eyes and looked away.
Mum being a true daughter of her father, walked in right that moment.
I gave a wave the moment I saw her. She recognised my signal and came to us.
I stood up to hug mum the second she got to us.
I missed her scent
Mum and I let go of each other. Bella hugged her and Mum turned to also hugged Temilade who didn't hug back.
It was a rectangle shaped table with four chairs. Temilade and I sat on the same side while Bella and mum on the other side, with Mum in front of me and Bella opposite Temilade.
"How are my kids doing? I want to hear all about what I've missed"
"Nothing much for me, just school and I had a fall out with David but don't bother Bella already gave me some useful advice which I plan to work on first thing in school tomorrow" I explained
"As for me, I've been trying to keep the house in place and my online store is going well. I'm also trying to be the sister I should I've been from onset" Bella said
Silence
"Tems baby what about you?" Mum asked
"Like Tamilore already said, nothing much. I'm just going crazy from having a broken family" Temilade replied.
"Don't call our family broken Temilade" Mum said
"But it is. I have a mum who abandoned me in the hands of my sister who nearly killed me. I barely see my Dad at home. Tamilore acts like I'm a stranger to her. My best friend has refused to pick my calls and I'm worried and angry at the same time. So tell me, even if you say our family isn't broken, hasn't it made ME broken?" Temilade asked.
"We came here to catch up Temilade. You don't have to bring up issues like this" I said
"That's my concern. Without these issues getting solved, my life can't remain the same. Mum left us in the name of her mental health. Did she ever bother about our mental health?. Imagine, I used to be able to walk into my parent's room to gist with my Mum but now I have to meet up with my Mum in a restaurant I'm just knowing exist. I don't even know where she's staying for the time being and you all expect me sit here and act like nothing has changed. You are all mistaken" Temilade scolded.
"You're right Temi. I won't oppose you but remember, Mum is hurt. She was betrayed by her own husband, the least we can do is try to be there for her" Bella said
"If you are going to make her have a hard time the more then I suggest that you go wait in the car" Bella continued.
"I'm going no where" Temi replied and looked away.
"I'm sorry if my decision to leave affected anyone of you than I thought it would. This is also hard for me." Mum said taking a sharp intake of breathe before releasing it.
"I'm getting a divorce-" she announced
"What!" I yelled.
I know I have gotten the attention of people in the restaurant but what did I hear my mother say.
"Why would you do that" I said
"I can't believe this!" Temilade chipped
"But this isn't what we discuss mum" Bella replied trying her desperate best to look reserved.
