Bruce
Bruce had expressed that he didn't really want to answer any questions. He didn't think his statement will have any impact on anything but Dr. Simon assured him that every little bit information will help Bucky's case in some way.
And that's how he ended up in the interrogation room.
"Thank you for meeting with me, Dr. Banner." Dr. Simon said, sitting down.
"I still think don't think my opinion will help."
"Dr. Banner, I am speaking doctor to a doctor. No matter how little the contribution is, it is good to know we have helped our patients."
"Okay, I will make this simple then. I have no contact with James. I've had minimal contact with Winter. And I don't see Bucky much unless something is wrong with him."
"Explain that to me."
"Well the first time I met Winter is the first time I met Bucky. Steve left on a sudden mission and he asked Sam to watch Bucky. Sam brought Bucky down to the lab and occupied him for a few minutes until Bucky's curiosity got the better of him and he went exploring the lab. Touching every wire and button. Now Bucky was only two years old and had no real sense of danger."
"He still doesn't and he's four."
"Correct but now he sort of asks before touches. But back then anything that was bright and flashed, he touched. So when we had him that day, he was repeatedly told not to touch anything and he didn't listen. He pushed buttons and nipped at wires."
"Nipped at wires?"
"Oh Bucky loved to put his mouth on wires back then. It was like he was exploring with his mouth but now that we know it is a sensory need, we made him chewies strong enough for his bite."
"That's interesting. I was never told he nipped at wires."
"I'm sure the habit has been broken by now but yeah, he loved wires back then. When Bucky had nipped one of the wires in the lab, it shocked him. Then I think Winter came out and started fighting Sam and I. Then I Hulked out." Dr. Simon's started to become concerned. "He didn't hurt him, he snuggled him. It scared the life out of Bucky and probably Winter though."
"I'm sure it would."
"I didn't mean to though. He freaked out, then Sam freaked out which caused Hulk to freak out. It just wasn't a good day and Bucky was already on edge because Steve left suddenly."
"Well that is certainly an interesting meeting. How do you feel about Bucky's progress compared to the first time you met him?"
"He's certainly more stable. He's gained actual weight and not muscle weight. The medication he's on has only been adjusted twice, I think and that was because his weight was fluctuating a bit. He's been on an anger management medicine but he's nowhere near as impulsive with his emotions as he was before so I believe that medicine can slowly be lowered."
"What if the government mandates that he takes another medicine?"
"They shouldn't. He's not that impulsive anymore. Plus any medication that the government prescribes to him would make him worse. For example, lithium. A mood stabilizer that made him insane."
"I've read of that incident."
"I do not think Bucky will benefit from any high end mood stabilizer like lithium, it will make him worse."
"I will note that." Dr. Simon began writing down the information.
"And also, off the record, Steve is not stable as well."
"You are the third person to have told me that."
"He's not. These last few weeks I've seen him not eat, he's not focused and he's not sleeping. If Steve wasn't a super soldier, I wouldn't let him be alone right now. But I trust that he is trying to take care of himself. It's just I'm worried he's going to make himself worry so much that he's going to make himself sick. He needs help."
"Steve has his own therapist if I'm not mistaken."
"I think he does but if you can please tell his therapist that Steve needs help." Dr. Simon wrote in his notebook then nodded.
"Thank you for your time, Dr. Banner."
"You're welcome." Dr. Banner stepped out. Dr. Simon wrote down in his notes to find the number for Steve's therapist. But until he was onto his next person. Well, sort of, human.
Vision
This was probably the weirdest thing Dr. Simon has had to do in his career.
Talking to a synthetic robot was not something they taught in school. So being face to face with an android kind of through him off.
"Do you go by Mr. Vision or just Vision?" Dr. Simon asked.
"Vision is all right."
"Alright, Vision, can you tell me about your relationship with Bucky's system?"
"I have none."
"You have had no interaction with them at all?"
"None."
"Um, okay, well my questions are useless to you then. But I guess I can ask you how you feel about his situation?"
"I'm not sure how to feel. There are rights and wrongs on both sides. The soldier is a killer but he was brainwashed. I don't believe any justice system has dealt with anyone of this caliber."
"Yes, he would be a first for them."
"They are rather persistent to give him the death penalty?"
"Very much."
"Are there not any other options?"
"His options are limited to living his life out in a padded prison cell or an isolated room in a mental institution. Both are going to make him extremely miserable and unstable. He will most likely not have contact with his family. If he's not killed by the government then, unfortunately, we run the risk of him doing it to himself."
Vision crossed his arms and sat back in his chair. "No wonder everyone is so tense these past few weeks."
"And now we've learned that Steve is at risk as well."
"Because of their relationship?"
"They're so close that we believe that one cannot live without the other."
"I am still learning the concepts of human relationships but I do understand that love can drive a person mad."
"That it can. It, unfortunately, can."
"I'm sorry that I am not able to help more."
"It's okay, Vision. I think just being aware of the situation and having an opinion is enough for them. Thank you for your time."
"You're welcome." Vision got up and left. Dr. Simon was honestly surprised that Vision didn't have any interaction with Bucky's system. He learned through Tony that Vision was once Jarvis and Jarvis only followed commands and requests like Friday. But Dr. Simon guessed there was always that one family member that didn't get much interaction and Bucky didn't socialized unless he wanted something.
He looked at his schedule and realized his next client. A young man by the name of Peter Parker.
