Today was seriously one of those days. Steve wasn't in the mood to do anything and Bucky was okay with that. They laid in Steve's bedroom for most of the morning until Steve remembered that they had dogs that needed to go outside and Bucky needed to eat. They got out of bed and went downstairs, Bucky let the dogs out and Steve made eggs and bacon.
"Daddy okay?"
"What?"
"Daddy okay?"
"I'm fine Buck," Bucky tilted his head at him. "Promise." Bucky began humming then he got Steve's hand pulling him outside. "What are you doing?" Bucky pulled him to the hammock and signed swing. "You can swing." Bucky pulled on him to sit down. "You want me to swing with you?" He nodded. Steve sat down with him, Bucky laid on his chest and rubbed his beard. "You got weird ways of showing affection, sweet boy." But then again, since Steve had the meeting Bucky has been extremely clingy and more in tune with Steve's emotions. He knew something was up.
After a few hours of swinging in the hammock, Steve could hear his phone ringing from inside but he didn't want to move. Bucky was half asleep and for once he felt calm.
That is until the doorbell went. Harley and Chase got up and ran inside. Bucky startled awake. Steve frowned, he wasn't expecting anybody today. He got up and picked Bucky up, they went inside. Steve set Bucky on the couch and went to the door. Five men in black. "Mr. Rogers, open the door." He remembered that voice as Everett Ross. Steve frowned then looked at Bucky, they were here for him.
"Upstairs, now." Steve whispered. Bucky whined and went upstairs to Steve's room. Steve opened the door. "What do you want?"
"Where's the soldier?" Ross asked.
"Why?"
"Captain, please don't make this into something it isn't."
"And please don't make me do what I have to to protect him." Steve stared Ross down until another car sped down his driveway. It was Sam and Nat.
"Why are you not answering your phone?" Nat asked.
"Didn't feel like it."
She pinched her nose then turned to Ross. "I told you not to come here."
"We have to make sure there is no funny business while we take him into custody." Ross said. Steve frowned deepened.
"Okay, me and you need to talk. You guys stay out here." Nat said. Steve let her in and closed the door. "Where is he?"
"Upstairs."
"Steve, we have to bring him in."
"Nat."
"Listen, before we left we met the therapist and he's completely clean. He told us he can make the session like his therapy session."
"That doesn't mean they won't do anything to twist anything he says."
"Even if they do, we'll all be there. But at this point, it's either you bring him in quietly or they take him by force and they have sedation with them."
"No way around it?" Steve asked. Nat shook her head. Steve sighed deeply but nodded. "Can you pack his bag?" She nodded. Steve went upstairs, he went in Bucky's room grabbing his sensory toys, his little keyboard and weighted blanket. He went in his bedroom, Bucky was rocking himself.
"Going?"
"Yeah, we have to go somewhere. Come on." Steve got his hand and they went downstairs.
"Snacks, drinks and tablet is in here." Nat said.
"Mommy."
"Hey sweetheart." She kissed his head. She went outside first then motioned for them to come out. Bucky wasn't expecting the huge, unfamiliar people outside. He flinched, which caused most of them to put their hands on the weapons. "If you don't bother him, he won't do anything. He's scared." Terrified was more like it.
