Natasha

Natasha had an idea what was going on when Thaddeus asked her sit in the interrogation room. But she was rather upset this week. Between yelling at Steve for leaving with Bucky unnecessarily and some other personal business, she was definitely not in a good mood.

Sitting in the interrogation room, she could understand why Bucky felt the way he did about interrogation rooms. These rooms were cold and uncomfortable.

"Ms. Romanoff, nice to see you." A man came in she recognized as Dr. Simon.

"What is all this about?"

"Thaddeus has asked me to ask all the Avengers about their relationship with Bucky's system."

"Well, this might take a while then. Some of them don't live here."

"It will. I know Clint Barton, Peter Parker and Scott Lang will have letters sent out to them. They can video chat or fill out the form. I believe Thor and Loki agreed to stay one more day, but I cannot get in contact with the Wakandan family."

"It seems unnecessary to ask everyone."

"This is for Bucky's survival, Ms. Romanoff, I am going to ask you series of questions now and please answer honestly."

"Okay."

"I will start with James. What is your relationship with him?"

"I don't have any relationship with James, he's not out enough around me. I haven't really interacted with him."

"Would you like to meet him?"

"I would. From what Steve has told us, he seems like a nice person. But I know he's probably still warming up to us."

"Now onto Winter."

"This is the complicated one. Winter and I have a mutual respect for each other."

"You have mutual respect for someone who has nearly killed you twice?"

"It works like this, I see myself in Winter if I hadn't left the Red Room. Someone emotionless and brutal in battle but doesn't know how to act in the outside world. What I went through was nothing compared to him but we were both used because the people above us thought they were doing good. Even thinking about it now, I feel like I can say I worked for Hydra."

"Explain your first encounter with Winter."

"Before the graduation ceremony, there was a final fight. They wanted to try a new method to see who would survive. He was standing in the training room with a handler on both sides. He looked lifeless. They told us if we could at least make him sweat then we would have passed. No one of the other girls could go three minutes with him. He was fast, efficient and brutal. When it was my turn, I did everything I could to catch up with his movements but he was fast. Then I managed to land a punch on him. He froze and they called him off."

"Do you know what happened to him after he fought?"

"I'm assuming he was locked down somewhere near his handlers. And that's the nicest thing I can think of happening to him. I don't want to think about them doing that stuff to him."

"I understand, I don't like thinking about that either."

"When I first met him, I didn't think he was human. With the metal arm and how out of it he looked, it made me believe he was some kind of robot. The handlers even referred to him as an it. This sort of goes with how I met Bucky." She smiled.

"Do tell."

"I met Bucky the same day I met Winter. Bucky just didn't identify as Bucky at the time. When I met Bucky, it after the fight. I was in my room and I heard someone walking around. At a certain time, the girls have curfew and we all have to be in bed. The people who can walk around is a few security people and the headmaster. But I learned the sounds of people's footsteps and I haven't heard any walk barefoot before. My door opened and he appeared. He was crying, like a lost child. Then he asked for daddy. I was confused but when he laid his head on my lap, I saw all the scars and burns on him and I began to piece together that they have mentally broken him. But he still smiled at me when I tickled him." Nat smiled when she remembered hearing him laugh. "That was the first he called me mommy."
