"I think I always knew, but I couldn't tell you."

"I think I feel that way too!" She's so innocent.

"You- You can't do that to anyone else, okay." Her pout is adorable.

"You should show me what else I can only do to you, just so I know..."

----------

I smile to myself, chuckling at how cute she was when we first got together. I pick my pen back up and start writing.

It's been about three months since she left for America, studying (f/subject) at one of the top universities there. We've drifted apart since she's been away, so I decided to write letters to her, even though I'll never send them. Maybe she'll read them when she gets back.

"Ocean man, take me to-"

"Hey Jotaro, what's up?" I answer the cold phone, interrupting his ringtone.

"Have you heard what happened in (state you're studying in)?" his deep voice comes through grainy, probably from him dropping it in the sand.

"No? What happened? And I didn't take you for one to  look at the news."

"Well, I keep up on (state) because you don't get American news in Japan. Anyway, there was a massive (fire/flood/tornado) that took out half of (University)."

I froze. (Y/n)! "Have you heard anything from (Y/n)? Please, please tell me you have." I stood up and started pacing, unable to sit any longer.

"I got notified by one of the hospitals in the area because I called, but she's- well she got injured really bad. I wanted to know if I could transfer her to a SWF hospital-" His voice slowly faded into the background as I processed that she was hurt.

(Y-Yn), she- she's hurt. She's in trouble. No, this isn't right. She was supposed to be fine. She was supposed to be safe. What do I do? How could this happen? I-How-What-

"-yoin? Kakyoin!"

"O-oh, sorry. Wh-what were you saying?" I ramble out, shaking slightly.

"Go check your mail. I sent you a ticket so you can stay with her, pack light, I've got stuff you can wear here." I nodded and hung up, silently facepalming because he couldn't see me.

I shook it off and packed the essentials and ran to my mailbox. I grabbed the letter from Jotaro and ran to the main street to get a taxi. I showed the driver the address and got there just in time for the Foundation jet to land. Having insanely rich friends has its perks I guess.

Hopping on the plane I couldn't rest so I asked for some paper. Maybe these letters will connect us. I scribbled out another memory of when we were still in High School.

----------

"Nori! You won't guess what just happened!" she squealed with joy, running up to me.

"Well? What happened (N/n)?" I smiled at her brightening face, her cute nose and adorable giggles.

"I got accepted! (University) sent me an acceptance letter AND a full scholarship! A full ride with housing and everything!" Her rosy cheeks and bright smile made my heart beat a little faster, but the news made my stomach drop.

"The one in America?" She nodded enthusiastically until she saw my face slowly drop.

"Nori?" She stepped closer, gently grasping my hands and holding them to her chest. "It's going to be okay, I promise. Just think of it as a short trip, I'll be back before you know it."

----------

My pen stopped as I remembered her line. "Just think of it as a short trip."

"I said that, before I left for Egypt. I- She said the same thing I did before I left and came back with- with a-" I whispered, slowly falling to tears as I realized that this was exactly what she went through.

I shook my head and kept writing, it's the least I could do right now.

----------

I was shook awake as the jet landed, a much to late sun shining in my eyes, but I grabbed my bag regardless. As I walked down the steps to the tarmac Jotaro walked up to me. Wordlessly he grabbed my bag and put it in his car, opening the door for me to sit in the passenger seat.

He drove to the hospital she was now in, and I stared out the window, wondering what I was going to walk into. We drove into a parking lot in front of the hospital and I sped towards the doors, not realizing I had no idea where I was going.

In a smooth American accent Jotaro spoke up, "(Y/n) (L/n), room 349."

"Of course sirs, and what are your relations to her?" the receptionist said looking at me, but I failed my English class. Why couldn't she speak any other language?

"He's her significant other, and I'm her guarantor." Her face paled slightly at the second half of his sentence and she hurriedly told him the way. I looked at him in curiosity. "I told her I was the one paying for her stay, no threats I promise."

I sighed but nodded, focusing on finding room 349. We went up the elevator to the third floor and down a few hallways before coming to a quiet corner guarded by two men in the Foundation's uniform. Nodding, they let us through and I almost ran to her room, opening the door and seeing her.

Her eyes were closed, and her chest was rising and falling. She's alive. I walked up to her slowly and saw her head was bandaged and she had a cast over her leg and arm. I finally let myself fall to my knees and cry, holding onto her hand.

"Kakyoin?" her voice seemed to taunt my memory, until I realized it was her.

"(Y/n)? You're okay," I sobbed.

"Hey, it's okay." She chuckled, "Looks like the tables have turned, just a few months ago I was crying over you in a hospital bed!"

I stopped, slowly realizing what happened. "(Y/n), that was a few years ago... Do you remember what happened to you?"

"Wh-what?" She looked panicked, but I held her close, "Th-that explains why you look older, but how long was I out?"

"A few days," Jotaro called out from the doorway. "You have a small case of amnesia, but you're lucky your boyfriend here wrote you letters while you were away at college."

My eyes widened as Jotaro hands me my bag, where I put all my letters to her. I grabbed one of the chairs and brought it close to her.

"I can read them to you?" She nodded, and so I pulled out the letter of our first date, grabbing the remote to the television and pulling up 'Mystic Pizza'.

"Well, I guess I should start here, I asked you to come over for dinner after school-"
