Caesar and I have trained and been together since we were little brats stealing from the bakery on the corner for dinner. Lisa Lisa was kind enough to take both me and Caesar under her wing, but when that meathead Joseph showed up Caesar got punished with him. I wanted to beg Lisa Lisa to let him out and ask why he had to deal with the pillar along with that meathead, but I have trusted her as though she was my own mother. I wanted to be mad but I just couldn't.

When Caesar finally made it out he was taken away to train with meathead for the fight against the Pillarmen, and I was left on the main island to continue with my daily training. When they came back from the islands I couldn't help but notice the air of maturity that surrounded him. No! No gay thoughts about your best friend! He's a playboy who can get any woman, he wouldn't love me. My heart dropped to my feet at that and I excused myself as soon as I could after a strangely tense dinner.

Lisa Lisa then called me down for a one-on-one discussion, and Joseph was the one to get me. That concerned me more than anything, so I hurried down the stairs and was almost stopped by Caesar, and with a heavy air of hesitation, I decided to continue down the stairs with a sting of hurt. I knocked on Lisa Lisa's door and opened it when I heard a muffled "enter".

"(Y/n), you know that I trust you with my life." I was taken aback by the bold statement and she sighed heavily before she continued. "I trust you with my life, but I can't let you come with us to defeat the Pillarmen," she stated as she looked up at me. "I'm sorry, but I need you here unless they go after Suzie Q again."

"Again?!" I was shocked that no one told me there was an intruder, let alone someone who was essentially my sister. "No one tells me anything do they? You know I trust you Lisa Lisa, and I love Suzie Q, she's practically my sister, but I want to help! I want to do more than be a guard dog to this place! I want to protect you and Caesar! I don't know Joseph well enough to say anything about him other than the fact that he's a bit dense, but I'll even protect him if I have to!"

Lisa walks up to me and places her hand on my shoulder, and gives me the softest look she can muster with the current situation. "I know, but the best way you can protect us is to make sure we have a home to come back to." She slid her hand off my shoulder and strode out of the room, ending the conversation.

I slowly made my way to the dock where they were gathering to leave. Suzie Q looked almost in a daze and Caesar was irritated beyond belief, pacing in front of the bridge. He looked at me with what almost seemed like pain before getting onto the boat. Joseph of all people made his way to me and gestured that he wanted to talk privately. I gave him a severely confused nod, because for all I knew they were going to be his last words to me.

"Hey, I know you're straight," he began but I stopped him right there.

"Hold up, what?"

"Well, you said you love Suzie Q. So I assumed-"

"Like a sister. If you're going to eavesdrop then listen to the whole conversation."

He paled slightly as he glanced back at the boat. He quickly looked back at me and asked nervously, "Well is there someone you do like?"

"Yes, the stubborn Italian man you're going on this suicide mission with."

"Oh."

"What do you mean 'oh.'?" He seemed to start sweating and looking anywhere but my face. "Oh, mio dio, you told him I love Suzie Q didn't you. Giuro che ti ucciderò se non lo fanno..."
