----------

It was just another day with my best friend Noriaki, or so I thought.

"Hey, (Y/n), you should come over for dinner tonight."

"Where did that come from? You never ask to have me over for diner, it's always video games and then we get food." I glance over at him with a small smirk and a raised eyebrow. "I'm down to go, just wondering if there was a reason," I continued noticing his worried expression when I questioned him.

"Oh it's nothing special, I just thought that I could make you something... y'know... for being there for me after my trip." He looked at me with a small smile. I returned it as a reflex, but I was lost in thought.

----------

I had been friends with Noriaki for a whole year before he went to Egypt with his new guy friend to help find a medicine for his mom, or so I had been told. When he came back almost two months later, he was in a coma from trauma to his abdomen and had new scars across his eyes. I nearly broke down in tears when I saw him that day. That was almost three months since then and when he woke up I had been asleep on the chair next to his bed. I woke up to a sound I thought I would never hear again. His laugh.

"(Y/n)-chan, what are you doing? Sleeping in a chair?" He continued to giggle at my strange situation and my eyes began to tear up. "W-what's wrong? Why are you crying?!"

"Kakyoin Noriaki, you dumbass! You scared me so bad when they said you might not-" I sobbed openly now, not being able to finish, "You had me so worried. I've been here since you were admitted and you're lucky they could fix your stomach up..." He was staring at me with his eyes wide and his mouth slightly open. "Just don't do that again. Please." I lost all the anger and scolding I had in mind and ended up whispering my plea but I think he heard it. I couldn't stop crying until he pulled me into a hug and lulled me to sleep.

----------

It was night now and he explained he also wanted some company since his parents were out of town for business. That explains a lot. Here I thought my best friend was gonna pull something. For some reason, whenever I called him my best friend it just didn't quite feel right. maybe "bestest friend ever and forever"? No that felt stupid. I'll think on that another day.

I walked up to his front door, now in casual clothes rather than our school uniform. Just a plain (f/c) t-shirt and some black jeans, and since it was a warmer night I didn't need a jacket. I rang the doorbell and waited. All of a sudden I hear a loud slam of a door and thumping of feet. They stopped right before the door and there was a small rustle as the person fixed something. The door opened to reveal a gakuran-less Noriaki. He just had a button-up shirt and his school pants. I never noticed how tight his shirt was, or how muscular he still was even after a two month coma. I snapped out of it as he smiled.

"Hey, sorry about that, I was in my room." He gave me his goofy apology smile and I giggled.

"I heard a slam, I guess that was your door then, and it's fine." He shifted to the side and was noticeably nervous for some reason. I followed him into the dining room and sat at the table. I was surprised to see a cherry pie sitting on the counter cooling. "You even made dessert? Wow Noriaki, I didn't know you could make pie." I looked up at him as he placed two plates of delicious looking (f/f) and blushed.

"Actually, I always used to make those as a kid for family dinners. I wasn't sure how the (f/f) was going to turn out so I made the pie. It's a surefire recipe so if all else fails, we have pie," he explained with a deep chuckle.

"I'm sure it'll be amazing," I assured him with a bright smile. I took one bite and just about melted. "This is amazing! I told you! If you keep this I might just have to keep you," I say jokingly.

His cheeks turned a little pink and he smirked, "Well then maybe I should start inviting you for dinner more often." I giggled and nodded.

"I would be happy to," I smiled brightly and added, "but you have to let me bring dessert next time. I have a killer cake recipe." He laughs and nods.

We talked away the night, laughing about Jotaro's antics and Noriaki's crazy gaming escapades. After dinner we cut into the pie and I literally melted at how good it was. Just the right of sweet, sour, and cherry bits. We cleaned up and went into the living room to watch a new movie that Noriaki found on video. "Mystic Pizza" was the name of it and I liked it. The cute story, the funny jokes and incidents, and I was happily dozing off on Noriaki's shoulder.

As the television's noise got blurrier and Noriaki's breathing became the only thing I heard clearly, he simply said, "You know, I don't think we can be friends anymore." He said it with the most confidence and clarity I snapped awake and looked at him.

"W-what?" I blinked a few times to be sure I was awake, not in a nightmare. "Did I do something?"

"Yes, you did." I started panicking and looking back through our whole friendship before he said, "You made me fall in love with you." I looked at him and saw his slight blush, serious eyes, and slightly upturned eyebrows.

"At first I thought it was just that you were there for me even though you had only known me for a year, but I realized I always liked you, more than as a friend. I don't want to just be your friend anymore. I think," he stopped and placed his soft hand on my cheek, "I think I always knew this but I just couldn't tell you." Then it clicked. The reason calling him my best friend felt so weird was because I felt like this too.

"Did I overstep? I- I'm sorry, (Y/n). Just-"

"I think I feel that way too!" I was squeezing my eyes shut, my face so clearly aflame. "I was wondering why calling you my best friend always felt wrong, like I should call you something else, and I kept pushing off thinking about it since we were happy and I could just think about it later. But I realize that the word I kept wanting to call you was my-" I was cut off by Noriaki's soft lips on mine.

"That was all I needed to know, was that you felt the same." He leaned down and began to kiss me again, this time nibbling at my bottom lip. I smiled into the kiss since it felt nice, but apparently that was the not what he wanted. He moved his hand to my butt and squeezed, causing me to gasp at the unfamiliar touch. He used that moment to slip his tongue into my mouth, now roaming around the new territory. After we were in need of air, he pulled away slightly, a string of saliva keeping us connected.

"You can't do that to anyone else, ok," I almost whispered as I looked into his eyes.

He simply smirked and replied, "You should show me what else I can't do to anyone else, just so I know."
