YANDERE FLUFF
~blood and disturbing images warning~
(Art is not mine cred to Honols on twitter)
The brisk April air blew through my hair as I walked along the side walk to school. I had one thing on my mind, my biology test in third hour. I suck at biology and if I fail another test, I won't be able to make up enough to pass! Stupid plant cells keep throwing me off! I started muttering what we went over in my study group. Hirose-san was the nicest of the tutors and helped me with my notes. I ran over his memorization strategies one more time and took a deep breath.
My eyes snapped open as I bumped into a warm wall in front of the school. No, that's a person. I looked up to see the Higashikata Josuke standing in front of me. I immediately looked down and went to apologize, but I looked back up when I realized something was off. He had a bloody nose and his cheek was bruised. I glanced at his knuckles and noticed they were just as beat up.
"Higashikata-san! I'm sorry for bumping into you, but are you ok? Your hands look like they hurt, and that bloody nose looks pretty bad," I trailed off before having an idea that would probably bite me in the ass later. "Come on, I'll take you to the nurse's office and help you get cleaned up." I gently grabbed his hand and pulled him up the stairs to the nurse's office and sat him down, barely registering the raging blush on his face. Josuke began to fiddle with the frayed bit of his bag's strap.
"You know I can just wait for the nurse. You don't have to fix me up." He began to get redder as I picked up one of his hands.
"Yeah, but I have a feeling you won't actually wait or care for your injuries. You are famous for your after-fight looks. Plus, I'm going to be a nurse one day so I might as well practice on you!" I smile up at him and grab the stuff to sanitize the cuts on his knuckles. "This'll sting a little so squeeze my hand if you need to." I hold his fingers and rest the palm of his hand on the back of mine as I start to clean his injury.
He squeezes my hand slightly and I finish bandaging his hand, repeating the cycle with the other hand. His cheek wasn't too bad, just some bruising so I grabbed an anti-inflammatory cream and placed a plaster over it. His face was a mess from the bloody nose so I checked if his nose was broken and if the bleeding had stopped. Luckily, he didn't have any major issues and the bleeding was stopped so all I had to do was clean it up. I took a wet washcloth and wiped away the blood under his nose, using a wet q-tip so he didn't have to smell iron all day. I noticed there was some on his top lip and gently wiped it off, but as I pulled away Josuke grabbed my wrist. I snapped out of nurse mode and realized how much I probably overstepped. Oh no. I made him mad didn't I...
"Oi, I... I just wanted to say, thanks." I let go of a breath I didn't know I was holding. "And next time I get into a fight, I'm gonna find you so you can have your practice," he finished with a smile.
I giggled lightly and looked at him. "Well don't give me too much practice, it's not good for you."

I snapped out of my daydream. Why in the world was I remembering that day? I looked over at the doctor and back down at the chart in my hand.
"The man said he wanted you specifically. He said he promised you if he ever got injured he'd go to you. I don't know, but he won't see anyone else." I looked down at the chart again and read the name.
'Higashikata Josuke'
"Oh! I knew him in high school! He's still going on about that?" I looked back to the doctor and continued, "Don't worry about any conflict of interest, sir." He nodded and walked out as I turned to go to the check-up room. "Hello Mr. Higashikata, what are you in for today?" I say as I look up at his bloody nose, cut cheek, and bloody knuckles. He also had a small frown.
"So you don't remember, huh. Well, miss, just a few cuts and bruises, but I can't ever take care of myself." He sounded so down it made me feel bad about jokingly 'forgetting' him. Like I ever could.
"Josuke, I was kidding. How could I forget the notorious human disaster that you were those last two years of high school?" I smiled at him as he lit up like a puppy. "Plus, I was just thinking about how I never see you, which is a good thing at work, but we need to hang out more!" I began getting everything out like that first time we bumped into each other.
"Haha, well I've been busy with all the trouble my nephew and my uncle have been getting in. Keeps me on my toes, and Jotaro's daughter was in some trouble, earning me these. Seems like I'll get a nice break from it finally, though." He laughed lightly as I cleaned his knuckles just like I used to. "You know, you're the gentlest nurse I've ever met. It almost never hurts when you clean me up."
I chuckle, "I don't hear that often. I guess I'm just gentle with my favorite patients." I look up at him and wink. "Now that your hands are all bandaged up, let's take a look at your cheek." I stood up and grabbed the doctor's stool that was always too high, and hunched over to look at it. "I guess you'll need some stitches in it, since it's pretty deep." I scooted the stool over to the cabinet and got out the stitching supplies. "This might pinch a bit, but it'll feel numb in a moment." I gave him a small dose of morphine to numb the cut and began cleaning it.
I couldn't help but notice how low my nurse's uniform cut and how close I was to his face. I focused back onto prepping him for stitches and making them neat and even. My teachers said I should have gone into plastics, but I wanted to help the average person, not just rich ladies who want a face-lift. I tied off the third stitch and placed the plaster over his cut and began cleaning his face. I did a thorough job and began cleaning his lip again.
He gently pulled my hand away from his lip after I had cleaned most of it up and looked me in the eyes. His eyes were filled with so much love and desire, and he placed his free hand on my cheek. "I never got to say this, but I think I love you. You were always there and after Koichi and Okuyasu stopped hanging out with me, you were right there, waiting for me. You always took care of me and I think I just had to tell you before one of us up left town for something."
I gasped, knowing that I had a possible promotion in Tokyo. H-How did he know? No, it was probably a guess or he had an offer too. I smiled and looked him in the eyes. "Well I was at a loss for why all my dating never worked out. Must have not been looking in the right place. I think I love you too." I smiled and kissed the tip of his nose and backed up, pulling out a sticky note. I scribbled out my number and handed it to him. "My prescription is at least one call to this phone number and a dinner date." I giggled and he started laughing as well.
"When do you get off work?" It almost sounded like he already knew, but I figured it was just me.
"In about thirty minutes, actually. Why?" I quirked an eyebrow and waited for him to respond.
"Well, then I could take you out to dinner tonight, if you would like. But you have to promise you won't run after I pick up the check," he joked.
"Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere."
Little did I know that he was the reason I never had a second date, or a kiss in high school, or even a good relationship with my neighbors. All of the proof needed was in Higashikata Josuke's basement, lined along the walls. Jars and jars of organs, from kidneys to teeth, all in formaldehyde. All a testament to his 'love'. No one would know, though. Just the rumor of a man who steals your insides violently, magically healing you afterwords, muttering about how the girl they talked to was his.
I could have sworn I heard him mutter, "I won't let you, anyway."
